Thanks gents. I’m really happy with how it turned out. The KAC rail was something I originally planned but put off due to cost and installation, but it was definitely worth getting. It is a CMT receiver set, the URX mates up with it perfect with the upper and is in my opinion, the best handguard for the platform.
Barrel is a 14,5” midlength Criterion and it shoots and runs great. Cerakote color is Glock FDE. Other than the safety, endplate and castle nut and magazines, those may be the only other parts I replace with KAC. In any case, this was my poor man’s SR25 ECC / M110K1 ish rifle and I couldn’t be happier. ETA: Pic Thread: Potato pic from last night. Attached File |

Received the Mod 2 gas block nut socket today thanks to @Cole2534. Finally, I can get this barrel removed and sent off to Marvin for dimpling. Gonna be a long six weeks without it!

Thanks bud, I appreciate your patience!
Getting engaged really eats up your free time fast. I'm beginning to think I should've just bought a PVS-30 and ACC instead. |

I'll be removing the barrel from my Mod 2 in the next day or two, but for anyone that has already done this, I have a question. Is the gas port drilled straight into the barrel like a traditional port or at an angle like LMT does with their MRP barrels? I can't seem to find pics anywhere of a Mod 2 with the gas block removed accept for that old pic with the barrel that isn't even drilled.

I know a few of the guys here that have taken their Mod 2's down and hopefully one of them will post with how their port was drilled. A member on TOS said his port was drilled at an angle towards the muzzle, and I know that LMT does this, but I'd like to hear if KAC uses this method on the Mod 2 by a trusted member here. Seems like I usually near nothing but crickets when I ask technical questions about SR-15's. Not sure if guys just don't want to share the info or if they simply don't know the answers to my questions. |
