Your typical Motley Crew of Navy SEAL Operators; this pic is a well known pic on the net; here is another group pic.

ODA 395; A-camp Price, Gereshk, Afghanistan.

Whats is it about SF guys and beards??
Makes me feel more badass for growing mine.

Come on Brother - -

The beard growth has to do with the environment.
In order to gain respect in the middle east you must have a beard.
Men are expected to have Facial hair.
Thus, SOP usually is set up - grow some so that your acceptance/trust factors go up.

Well I don't have a beard but here is my buddy that kept me company for 8 months.

God I love those M60E4's. I wish the Army would have fielded those instead of the damn M240B.

Me in January of 2002, a buddy took a random pic whilst we were stopped on a knee.

Not an AR though, or spray painted.

Just a random question but how exactly do contractors get their weapons?  Do they convert semi guns over or do they find some way to purchase full auto weapons like what the military has?
Link Posted: 2/16/2007 8:52:42 PM EDT
[#12]
The contractors import them to iraq from US manufacturers per the terms of their contract. Here's a link to the import requirements and guidelines for doing so: http://www.usaid.gov/iraq/form/aa_10-18-04.pdf

There was some procurement guy with PMC outfit that ordered semi Bushy carbines, and then ordered separate M16 FCG parts and BCs.  Trying to save money, get around some DOS rules, and save money.
Didn't work out too well.

You gotta look hard but you can see a few realy well worn rifles in the back of this Brad, plus the one that is behind the TOW with its stock melted into the bussel rack.
Again, no undone chin straps.

Yeah, I actually had a bad case of chapped lips and had lip balm on. You can see where I tried to whipe it off a little on my glove.
