carry-handle in extreme lower right left.  the guy, not the gal.  focus.  I think this is Israeli police.  That gun is probably older than him, maybe older than his dad.  Heck, even got the flat slip ring.

ETA: got my right mixed up with my other right.

That unit is the Israeli Border Guard. The IDF doesn’t throw things away. The problem is that the older stuff is rifled 1/12 for the 55gr m193 and the newer stuff m4 barrels are rifled for the 62gr ss109/m885.

No kidding. This one show already once rebuilt in 1973 by US Anniston Depot. And later went to Israel and rebuilt again into carbine.

Agree
But at least seems like the soldier was smart enough to put a bungee cord so that the flag will pop out as soon as he racks the charging handle

In 2004 we had guys with M16A1 lowers. They had new A2 and M4 uppers though. You could tell right away who had those rifles by the two tone look the rifles had. The lowers were pretty old. Never saw any A1 uppers though.

Saw almost every IDF x95 when I was there had that same chamber flag and bungee set up. I think it’s something manufactured and issued, not soldier improvised.

I think that set up with the chamber flag and bungee allows them to keep a live magazine in the weapon.

Likely more of IDF regulation require chamber flag be used in certain circumstances, not strictly for just allow live magazine inserted.

something funky about the ejection port rod retention.  seems like a cotter pin of sorts?  is that how they OEM did that eons ago.  IDF cloners, take note.

It is a quick release chamber flag. Pulling the paracord chambers a round. Several are available on the market.

In addition to chamber flag, I think I also saw the orange muzzle plug? That's way overkill.

I did say ejection port rod retention.
I guess I should've said ejection port dust cover rod retainer, to be perfectly clear.

Picked up this old Bushmaster xm15-e2s that was covered in accessories. Stripped it down, added a sling from zahal and thinking that’s it!

Engraved above the magwell is 8 - 23 - ANAD (Anniston Army Depot)  Which is typically how weapons are marked when they've gone through a rebuild or at least inspection at the depot level.

Well this started as a Blood Diamond clone build, but decided to go my own way.

H&R M16A1 lower; Colt 6520 upper, Colt M4CQB barrel, Surefire Blast Warden on a Surefire A2 FH.
I like the idea presented earlier of a lug adapter to mount a light. Looks like a perfect setup for a Micro Scout.

This was my main jam for years, only difference was aimpoint and light.

Need to toss one of the streamlights on it today. It serves as the truck gun and KISS carbine now.

6921 factory upper, pinned a2x, Centurion C4 cutout, Geissele g2s. +/- 12k rounds and on it's second bolt - flat out shoots.
