correct!

my goal with this build was to build an AR that to me was like my AK's.

My thought process to explain further:
- Fixed stock and iron sights, simple is key here - A1 style sight (DD 1.5) + A1 style stock (in this case a CavArms C1)
- Must be able to consume all ammo, notably steel ammo
- Reliability ––> from my research, the mid length upper + rifle buffer is a very reliable and soft shooting combo.
- KISS

I'll know more today, as I'm leaving in 30 min to function test and zero it. taking 250 rounds of silver bear 55 grain, 250 rounds of MFS (hungarian) 55 grain, 100 rounds of M855 (LC), and 100 rounds of Remington green box .223 (55 grain).

Who threw that stone....come on, who threw that stone.

Wow- A Elbit Falcon gunsight! I thought I was the only one who still had one of those.

Love that thing and it's auto brightness feature.

Look great on that rifle.

Yes, our parts are tight, we did that on purpose.

I dig these KISS rifles.....how all my AR's were like in the 80's and 90's. I build my first AR in 20 years with an EOTech in mind.......and over the last few days have stripped it off.....I like iron sighted KISS rifles.....

how do you like the rifle?

I'm torn between one of these or a 20in lightweight build.

reliable? I don't know much about dpms.

It's a little bit late to answer this but....

I really do like the rifle, it's not tier one, but it's quite reliable. I've only got about 600 rounds (all steel cased) through it with only one stuck case early on. It is a very accurate gun with just the irons. DPMS customer service is very good as well.

Not nearly as hot as if I grabbed the exposed barrel. The grenade launcher handguard isn't covered underneath, 'cause that's where the launcher is 'sposed to be.

I don't do a lot of rapid-fire barrel heatin' up with this one.

Here's my IDF-ish contribution...

Not sure if I want to have the barrel cut and pinned or not. The stock isn't comfortable for me so I'll be switiching it out for the M4 version.

Run a quarter of a mile, preferably while being shot at, flop down on your belly (must be wearing chest rig full of mags to get full effect) then shoulder the thing prone. Bet you won't even notice! Just kidding - the M4 works better for more people, but I still like the dumb old CAR stock. It were me I'd have ADCO cut the barrel to 14.7" and pin a regular A2 on it, but that's me. Nice, classic stick. Doing a 733 soon myself.

ETA: Is that a Lonestar grip on it? You know I had one of those, sold it before I really held it, then realized how well it fit my hand. Kind of pissed at myself now. Had storage in it too IIRC.
