Fun to shoot.  Might do an SBR with the barrel cut to 11.5" one day.

Got the spare parts upper assembled.  Just testing it on the BlockII lower.  I actually have an extra lower laying around in the safe but am short a few small parts which should hopefully come in next week.

Sadly I had to use a 16" Colt Socom profile barrel that was laying around.  Waiting for Knights M4QD for whenever my suppressor gets out of jail.

Sorry for the phone pics.

Not that forward assists get used all that often, but I was wondering if you guys who have the retro style ones find them easier or more comfortable to use given their larger surface area. If so, why would the military want to switch to the round style? Cheaper to produce?

I bought a few through eBay.   Search "IDF sling".   Ship from Israel and inexpensive.

There was someone in eBay that had the Zahal slings and shipped from USA.

I think this guy counts. Heavier than most in this thread, though.

Some might say its not KISS enough, but I dig it.  Mine almost turned out like yours as I have a spare Larue carbine length rail laying around.

I'm sure my rail will get used up at some point maybe for an early PR/Block II build once my 14.5 pencil barrel gets in.

Hopefully I'll have some updated pics to post later this week.

Updated 14.7 pencil.  Also got the NT4 suppressor approved Monday.

Awaiting a Proctor sling atm and she will be done.

Also working on a Black lower and probably going to get the muzzle pinned too to put on a non sbr lower.

More of a C7A2, A1s had fixed buttstocks.  I dig it though, 16" mid is much more practical IMO.

Is this KISS enough, or is this more of an "I fail at KISS"?

Well, you don't have a light or optic, therefore limiting you to shooting during daylight, so yeah, that's KISS.

Need some triangle handguards. I'm loving the tear drop f/a and flat slip ring.

I think she is finally complete.  14.7 pinned to 16.  With everything in picture, mag fully loaded and sling, she is about 9.25lbs.  I think its my new walk about carbine.

I kind of want to get an ACOG, but I doubt that will happen.  Other than that I think I am going to get a Surefire Scout 300 and call her a day.

Still saving for my Meprolight M21, but she's almost done. Decided to make more of an IDF tribute than true clone. I've been wanting to do one for a long time and since PSA was selling a KISS rifle dirt cheap I figured it would be the perfect platform.

This guy is mostly Colt. But a friend gave me the surefire handguard off of one of those RRA trade-ins. The barrel is a Bushmaster pinned. I have a Colt 16 inch pencil barrel, but it needs a new fsb.

Got my optic and light rail mounted. I'm really impressed with the Meprolight M21. For no batteries it works great!

Thought I'd posted this updated version/direction I took my KISS carbine.  She's IDF at heart but the ACOG is just so much nicer as far as glass clarity goes over the Colt carry handle.  Also I prefer Surefire tail cap operated lights over the Inforce models.
