Honestly, I'd just leave the g2s.  There is a difference, but it isn't night and day.  Spend the money on ammo and practice.

Do you have a picture of it without the suppressor?  I'm thinking of doing something similar.

Moved the aac miter brake to my long rail MRP.
This will probably be its home for a while.  Same with the dbal.

I have next to zero scope experience. I really wanted the NXS 2.5-10x42, but I couldn't drop that kind of coin. I suspect Vortex is a better value in the same price range. I have never looked through one though. The eyebox on the SHV at 10x is, in my opinion, very small. It forces me to the exact same position every time (which really isn't a bad thing I guess).

I looked at the Vortex PST 2.5-10x32, but I didn't like how the 32mm objective looked on the gun (hey, form over function ). The Vortex 2.5-10x44 doesn't have parallax adjustment and I didn't like the reitcules. I didn't know how much of an effect the Fire dot of the Leupold VXR and Mark AR had on precision. Plus the "Nightforce" on the side of the scope is better looking anyway

Pretty much echo's my feelings on the shv. I also found that the adjustable paralex did little to nothing. For the money keep an eye out in the EE and pick up a NXS.

So more Recce questions.  For their original purpose what type of real world accuracy was expected out of them? We're they meant to be sub moa rifles?  Obviously we have the luxury of using what ever we want and making them that but as for the original purpose what was expected?

Posted this in the Ammo sub section but it should go here too

Shooting 100 yards with Federal Gold Medal Match 223  69gr off sand bags.  The upper is not advertised as match so getting 1inch and under I am quite happy with and will be buying more 69gr FGGM.  This particular upper doent seem to like heavy loads 75 or 77gr, shooting FGGM 77gr resulted in 1.5-almost 2in groups.  I did some shooting off the bipod also and got 1inchish groupings as well but did not get pics of those

Later in the day I did work my zero closer to POA  I realize these groups are a little off to the left

I'd like to point out that the 2nd rifle was one of the first recce rifles and using a krieger barrel instead of a Lilja.

The user posted in this thread and said it was his work rifle. I'm taking that as issued work rifle so I would say it's a in the wild.

Hot shit man Lilja barrel?

I'm going to order it later in the week.  Till then it will live with the Odin works barrel.

Reading back about that rifle it looks like it used a Krieger and not a Lija so I may go that direction (thanks Patriot_Man for the nugget on this). I'm also playing around with a 14.5" barrel, but I think I like the historic recce look.

SEAL Reece is almost done, Leopold Mark 4 1.5-5 will be here Friday, then I have to decide between a SOPMOD stock and CTR, after that all it needs is a harris bipod.

Not putting a SOPMOD on would be heresy

Nice! I can't wait to see it complete (and with the SOPMOD)

You should consider a sopmod. Then decide on a sopmod. Then put a sopmod on it.

CTR might get you a handjob, but OG CAR gets you laid until the sun comes up. But yeah, the CTR does look good.

It will probably be a SOPMOD, I'll slap the upper on my Block II lower and see if the CTR has enough cheek rest for me once the Leupold comes in.

So a knock off CAR will just get you a slap across the face, eh?  You want to know something, after trying a bunch of them, I prefer an M4 telestock.  As ugly as they are.  I have not tried a SOPMOD though.  I don't think I'd like it.  To me the less it sticks into my face, the better.  The CAR is good and the M4 is a bit better because I think the slant and longer toe helps me lock it in when shooting off hand.

I've had a Model 1 Sales CAR, a Magpul MOE, an STR, and an LMT SOPMOD, an A2 stock, and an ACE Skeleton stock. I now use a regular M4 stock also.

Aint that just the sh*&.  We could've both save some money.  At least for me.  All of my carbine lowers came with commercial M4 stocks. but I had to try other stuff....  Actually I didn't try all that many.  But enough.  The CTR I returned within a couple of days, so I didn't lose any money on that deal.

Gotta keep one in case an MRE pops up.

I needs a real one like you.  But I'm not sure I want to buy one since I have two commercial ones that work.
