Picked up a Leopold Mark 4 110074 for it! Dobs013 got my 3-9 MR/T which prompted the whole change up.

I was using a Badger Recon before the rebuild very solid.

Switched back to my NF ultralight Unimount to save weight since I’m using a bigger scope this time around.

Who's scout rail is that? And what rings? SOCOM or Govt? I keep wanting someone to build a Free Floated recce type with a govt' M4 and see if it will actually shoot. Thanks man! Yeah I used what was left of my gun budget to put this together and it still required selling some stuff to do it. The rail is a yhm 527, I believe. It was by far the most streamline and simplistic riser out there, without dropping $300 and having to track down a KAC. The rings on top of it are aluminum mark 4 highs. And you are in luck on the barrel, it's got a 16" colt m4 profile installed. I was curious about the m4 profile myself and I wasn't sure about the barrel so I didn't want to have to deal with pinning a fh and then changing my mind. I'm hoping I'll be able to go out this weekend and try it out. Once I do, I'll let you know what I get out of it.

Molon did a pretty exhaustive comparison between Colt gov, socom, and pencil(6520) barrels all with free floated hand guards. I'm sure it's included in the post at the top of the page. Results are what you'd suspect, SOCOM > M4 > pencil but the difference isn't huge.

I'll go back and look. For some reason I didn't remember him doing a run of the mill m4 govt' barrel. I do remember one of his tests were recce's though.....

I found this one, but he didn't post 10 shot results from the 6920 barrel..... Just the "mean radius" Which is something completely different and I'm not interpreting what that is..... The SOCOM shot pretty darned good though. Would've liked to seen what the 10 shot group sizes were for the Govt'.....

Mean radius is a better measure of accuracy and precision than extreme spread. The table at the bottom of the post you quoted has all the comparison info you are looking for. Here is a post from Molon explaining mean radius.

So I have this barrel sitting here. Should I sell it or build it? It’s a 16 inch Ballistic Advantage 1/8 223 Wylde with a Govt profile but still has the Ops Inc taper for the AEM5/12th.

I bought this for my girlfriends gun but decided to get her the ODIN works light profile because she won’t be using my AEM5 (has her own can) and the Odin is 10oz lighter. I haven’t bothered to build it because I just finished my 13.7 Infidel Recce and it does everything I would ask of a 16. So why do the extra length and weight? But at the same time it’s profiled for my favorite can

Oh and cause Wreckie pic threads: (I know I know this rifle is like Paris Hilton it’s such an attention whore for the cameras)

They actually make two different 16 with the ops cut. They have a heavier SPR profile with it and this one the Govt profile with the ops cut. I bought mine from Monmouth reloading a while back

I’ve decided not to build this. I’m gonna sell it if anyone is interested. Will be in the EE in the next day or so.

CTR is the only stock I can get comfy behind the 3.5-10 with. I tried sopmod, a1, and car. There's just something about the 3.5-10 at 10x that kills me cheekweld wise.
