I guess I could sell my current mount and buy a 1.93, or look for one used.  Only problem is both of my scopes I can mount are 1".   I don't really have the money to buy an all new military legit clone scope, although I really should get something with BDC or turrets.  But I'm just curious what good options are out there.  Cheap, not cheap, the whole skinny.

I remember there used to be a recce rail that wasn't as big as the ones you see on the Hollands.  It just hung over a little bit.   But I don't remember who made that.  Anybody know?

ADM and LaRue both make 1.93 (1.84 for ADM) height mounts with 1in ring sizes.

ADM will be cheaper with QD levers, but the LaRue can be cheaper if you get the VFZ (No QD levers).

I'd sell both and start fresh with 30mm.

Was it hard to get your scope lined up in that mount?

Not too hard -- I do have the Arisaka scope leveler, but since the Swarovski has a rounded bottom, it didn't help much there. It did help with confirming the Leupold (apparently I had mounted it perfectly by sight alone...)

My MK12 mod H-ish recce build is getting close to completion, still needs some paint and waiting on a cattail, but I'm very happy with it.

It’s the P4Xi 1-4x.  I cannot say enough good things about this scope.

It looks really good.  I have sort of a love / hate thing going on for a CAR stock.  I like the way they look.  I like how light they are.  I like them prone and kneeling or sitting.  Or really bent over far forward if off hand.  But I don't really like the for offhand.  I have to tilt my had real far forward to get down on the sights because my neck is longer and the gun is further down because they're so short.  And sometimes the edge will just jam my collar bone and yes, hurt during recoil.  It's a bit distracting.

Anyways....  that's my CAR stock rant.  Great recce though.

Thank you, Don’t worry I feel the same way about the car stock. I keep switching it out with the SOPMOD due to the items you listed above.

Got some more parts in yesterday. Still contemplating on which barrel to go with. I’m thinking about contacting Lilja to see if I can get their recce barrel in mid length gas.

Thanks, I thought about that and the Douglas from HCS. Can’t make up my mind. It’s probably gonna be the last part I get since it’s the only one I’m unsure on at the moment.

Moms 60th Bday present. she requested an AR15, like my mk12 style, with 600yds range. Alsonhad to be camo painted.....and must have.....PINK. yeah i know lol. She already kills golf balls at 100yds with the Mk12 so it was something she could actually use. I decided to built the RECCE she needed :)I threw the spare 10x Bushnell optic on and this is the first shots out of the barrel, after just a "down the barrel,  through the crosshairs" adjustment. no lie. I wanted a 1-6/8 but this works too! Ballistic Advantage 1/8:

Hot.  Tell your Mom happy Birthday.  And that she's super cool.   I dig the pink.  In WWII, I think the British painted their Jeeps pink in Africa.  They thought it was good desert camo.  I have no clue but truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.

All that to say, the color scheme makes sense.

And you probably knew all that.  ...  didn't mean to sound like a know it all.

Finally got to take it to the range, the 16" ballistic advantage SPR bbl shoots very well with 69gr SMKs! Will be working up a 70gr TSX load next.

Updated my Recce a little. swapped the gray for OD green. and added a bubble level to the scope (I had a gift card for optics planet)  I have mine set up for primary long range shooting with the ability to come in close. the scope is a Bushnell engage 2.5-10x and I have a Vortex venom 3moa on a 45* mount.  Using Magtech 77gr OTM I can hold 1moa all day off the bipod and rear squeeze bag at 100 and 200 yards (2 inch groups at 200).  I tried to like the 1-6x scopes but I think with how I want to use the rifle it doesnt fit my wants so I end up not liking the scope. The 2.5-10 is perfect though. The Aero/BA barrel I have found prefers 69gr SMKs  my best groups have been with 69gr Nosler custom match at 0.56in.

Nice setup. 69gr SMKs have been awesome for my BA barrel too. So accurate at 200 yrds. Really interested to see how they do at ~600 with this barrel.

Just put this build together last night and took it out today.  The Nightforce 2.5-10 is about the perfect optic for this type of rifle.  I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger on one.

I sent my upper and new barrel to them on Wednesday via USPS. On Monday I got an email saying they completed it, and it started moving to me via UPS on Tuesday morning. Tracking says I should have it tomorrow.

Mock up for now, gotta torque everything tomorrow and still waiting on the last parts to arrive. I changed it up and decided on a minimalist recce. Only accessories will be an atlas bipod and maybe a light.
