My Budget RECCE is Finally complete

Have not shot it yet, just finished it today. Should be a pretty decent shooter. Getting an AAC Muzzle Device soon, A2 for now.

Still need to throw on some backup irons, or canted, havent decided.

Yes, yes you do, but put a proper stock on it, not that walking cane looking thing you have now.

LOL  I keep trying to put an A1 with my recce and call it a Mod 1 short (to myself of course) and it just looks all wrong.  A 16" barrel just needs an adjustable stock.  It seems like.  I like a fixed stock if I'm going to shoot groups though.  It just works better for me.  But it never lasts when I put it on there.  Now on a Mod 0 or 1, I think it looks great.

Here are my recces. Built the top one thinking that it would be my "one rifle" but found that it wasn't what I needed. So the bottom one got built and the top one is getting sold.

I read extensively here and decided a 16" barrel was what I wanted, but after using that rifle for a bit (it's also a heavy match barrel) it was just too much gun. Plus, here in OH I need something at 1x for up close and the 10x was too much. You don't get that long of a shot much around here and if you do you probably want a .30. So I played with a Docter but couldn't make that work well either. So it became a bench gun and I built the bottom one, which is really perfect for what I need.

Both are built around Rainier barrels. Top is a 16" rifle gas Rock Creek/Rainier, and the bottom is a 14.5" Select middy. Top is sub-MOA with BH red box; haven't shot the 14.5 yet. If suppressors are de-regulated then it may get a can...

Not sure about the rest of you folks, but Kevin's "reece" is what I used as a template to build my first RECCE rifle. RRA upper and lower (when they were good), 1:7 middy match barrel, Troy MRF 9" rail, folding front sight gas block, and Magpul furniture. Still going strong after 10+ years. About to change the barrel out to a Ballistic Advantage Hanson and swap the quad rail to a KeyMod or similar slimmer system. Perfect setup.

Is there some kind of rail in Front of the FSB?  It looks like something is there.  but not quite the same as a Block II FSB because the rail basically stops.  Or something.  What is that on the barrel?   That is such a cool build, what I can see of it.  Kind of strange too.  Not something you see very much of.  I don't think.

LOL, I just noticed.  It looks like your mod H might fit in the surplus pelican case without even coming apart.  That would be kind of cool.  Although you'd have to put new foam in.  Or just take it out completely.  I'm bummed because I have one about half the size of that and my M4gery upper ALMOST fits, but doesn't.    I need to cut it down to 10.3 and go Mk18 Mod0, just so it fits in my pelican case.  LOL.
