Just put one of those on my bolt gun. What a fantastic optic it is.

The only downside to it is the size.  The 2.5-10X42 is a lot more compact and looks/feels a lot more at home on an AR.

My 4-16 is on a bolt gun right now too, but I'm considering a second to put on a 16" Recce I have that shoots well with MK262. It has an NXS 1-4 on it now that I don't think is doing it justice.

The illumination on the ATACR is better than on the NXS IMO.  The little bitty reticle you get with the FFP on 4X is great for using at night.  I shot a lot of varmints with mine last year in the dark.

I've been looking at building a new upper that is a recce/sopmod build using a RIS II rail, I just wanna know what would be good optics, Im looking at leupold, NF, and vortex, but im open to all options under 2500 bucks.

Unless your trying to clone I think you would be hard pressed to beat the vortex razor 1-6

The Leupold Mk6 3-18 would fit the bill nicely:

You could piece together a DAGR system over time to spread out the cost.

Thats what I was thinking, That was a pic posted on the block II thread and I just had to have it once I saw it. The only thing is I just cant decide which one, 1-6 or the 3-18.

I think I'll do the 3-18x

That would be a sweet build.

In reality, for clone purposes you have options such as the NF 2.5-10x24 (probably even the 3.5-15x50), Leupold Mk8, we have seen the Kahles 1-6 in at least one pic, and it's probably a matter of time before we start seeing more Vortex.

I just scored a 2.5-10x42 for the 18" and will move the x24 to the recce rifle. 1450.00 NIB is damn good deal.

I like your style.  Mine admittedly is only a 14.5 pinned to 16 but it gives you a good idea.

I try to keep it in the Block II thread as imho true Recce's are usually 16" and mine is probably still a tad too big for the mini Recce thread.

Could somebody point me in the right direction so to speak on the DAGR specs, I got no clue, although I've snooped for awhile on both threads so I know the basics.

Thanks!
I've actually been tempted to re-barrel it into a 14.5" since Criterion released them in a chrome lined hybrid contour and Surefire released the SFCT. However the rifle shoots amazing as is so I don't feel the need to mess with it yet...

The DAGR is just the optic (Dual Aperture Gunsight Riflescope).

Europtic has a tempting deal on demo units, but it's more than I can spend on a scope at the moment (I need at least one more suppressor and NODs):

http://www.eurooptic.com/117993-demo-Leupold-Mark-6-3-18x44mm--34mm--DAGR-Kit-M5C2-Ma.aspx

ETA: I don't think it has an illuminated reticule. For .mil folks, I wonder if it's an issue since they could use clip-on NVDs for low light.

I originally wanted to do a SPR however there isn't much advantage in velocity, so I kept it compact and light with a 16".

Second AEM5 Showed up. Now I need to move some scopes around x42 mil/mil on the 18" and the x24 mil/mil will go on the 15" the x24 mil/moa will go on another rifle or the EE. Butler Creek Caps inbound and then to paint she goes.

This will just about do it for AR pattern Rifles for me. I think I will just pull the Block II uppers off the EE and keep them and call it done.

Have a great weekend guys.

Hope this one is close to a RECCE build.  Not yet completed, as I still need a CH, BCG, and 1x4 scope.
But currently it has:
16" .223 Wylde 1x7 twist Wilson Arms barrel, Geissele 13" Mk4 rail, AAC 51T flash hider, Spikes calico lower (was cheap at LGS and came with LPK minus trigger group), Geissele G2S trigger (not yet installed), Magpul MOE stock, MOE pistol grip.
Scope mount is Larue.  Planning on Vortex 1x4.  Will also add Surefire light
