The new unit as everyone already know uses the CR123 batteries, and the battery compartment is also dummy cord to the body. even the next gen PEQ will use one CR123 instead of the two AA. The throw lever is well integrated into the body, making it as snag free as possible. Don't ask me, they are still working on it... they are not even sure which model will they use as a base.. 552 or the 553.
