Are the buffer tube threads already cut on an 80%er? I can't remember if they are or not, that's why I asked.

Yeah most are. All the 80s I've bought have been. Just had to do the FCG pocket and trigger/hammer/selctor holes.

With all of the Cheap Palmetto and Anderson lowers out there, I don't see a point of buying an 80%, the jig, the right tools, etc. They're past the price point of even the cheap ones out there.

In terms of dollars, I agree.

In terms of not being registered/confiscated. Well there is a point right there.

I also enjoy building my own engines, transmissions and such for my cars/motorcycles, so there is that.

1: ATF don't know you have one, if you care about that stuff
2: If you're trying to duplicate an unobtainable lower, its your only bet. See the "clone" threads for examples.
3: You can design any logo or wording that you'd like.

Those clone threads are funny, but I see your point.

Always gives me a laugh seeing someone telling you that an issued M4 pic that was taken down range, is not in spec, lol.

Yea, just finished setting up a high quality Chinese DRO on my buddies clapped out Bridgeport. His backlash was horrendous.

I have a nice Clausing mill at work but I refuse to do this sort of thing there.

There is zero cost savings when you factor in the cost of the jigs/tooling, in fact you costs considerably more. I just enjoy spending an afternoon in front of a machine, making stuff.

Mostly scouring for good deals and coming upon them.

looks like a rubber thread protector... like the ones some barrel manufacturers ship on their new barrels to protect the threads until you get a muzzle device installed.

TFS 15" M loc rail
Black Rain Nickel Boron BCG
Elftman 3 gun trigger
Wilson 1-8 Wylde 16" fluted mid length barrel.
Seeking adjustable gas block
Full Ambi controls (I shoot lefty)
Vitor E Mod stock
SilencerCo Trifecta mount for Saker can
Buffer tube is also nickel boron inside and out

Then TFS Ceracoated it with a modified Bronze color with a small amount of gold flake and he even accented the flutes under the hand guard.

It runs great and I am pretty happy with the looks too.

I believe thats a LT681 mount that allows you to move the ACOG as far back as it will go.  Its suppose to be used with A2 stocks so you dont have to crane your neck so far forward or some people just dont like to shoot NTCH.  Ive got the same mount but I still has a rear buis under it.
