I was wondering if we are going to get the CZ EVO tri-lug any time soon. Are you still making it and if so.... can we have a release date guesstimate? I have to have one within the next two months and I'm hoping yours will be ready. Yours is the one I want but I have to have one soon regardless who makes it.

We originally wanted to have detent cuts in it for the spring, but the truth is that won't let it torque up properly, so we are going to put wrench flats on it, just reworking the programming and then into the production que it goes. Figure 8-10 weeks and we should have a batch of them ready.
The market appears to already be flooded with tri-lug adapters for the gun, but I did promise we would make some so we will crank out at least a small batch of them. |

Put me down for one. And as far as the market being flooded, I've only ever seen the TROS out in the wild. And not a lot of people want to deal with them.

Sign me up for a 3 lug as well.
You guys have been helping get the aftermarket parts for the scorpion going and I'm happy to support your endeavour. |

I thought I would reaffirm my interest in getting one of these. Actually I need one

They were out of stock on the website for a for hours, but back in stock.
We listed half our inventory of them yesterday, and sold out of that in less than 24 hours, so the second half is up now! |

I think this shows that Scorpion market is ready for quality US made parts. Charging handles, foreends, drop in trigger groups, magazines, etc.

The way I see it there are only 3 companies making 3 lug adapters. TROS, DSK, and Manticore.
TROS is good quality but lead times and lack of communication makes people wary of buying them. DSK seems to make good stuff (although I have no personal experience with them) but they only make them in small runs due to deployment of the owner. Manticore is obviously a top notch producer with much better response times and a bigger online presence which makes it easier for people to do business with them. Honestly, y'all could own the scorpion market with whatever y'all decide to put out there. |

Thanks for the compliment.
We definitely have more stuff coming for the Scorpion. Sven Manticore |

Hey Sven,
I got the mount on by prying up the detent thing. Am I supposed to unscrew the barrel nut and remove it or just let it sit on top of the mount? |
|
My Scorpion is on layaway at Cabelas but I do have your 3 lug adapter in hand as of yesterday. Looking at the parts breakdown the flash hinder/brake detent spring it looks like it will just pop off the nut. Is that correct and why not take it off to make the install cleaner since the spring will no longer do anything anyway?

It can be a bit tricky to remove, so some people leave it on. The spring is not needed to retain the tri lug, so either way you are good to go. |
|
What exactly is involved with the spring removal? I will be picking up the Scorpion next week. Will I need any special tools?

I didn't have the tools to remove the barrel nut. Getting it on was tricky since the spring is awfully strong. I slipped a brass 5.56 case over the spring tab and started screwing on the adapter while lightly prying outwards with the brass case- once the adapter cleared the tab I removed the brass case and finished screwing it on. The machine marks are incredibly rough on the wrench flats. I see deep circular tool marks that don't look like they had any intention of trying to clean up. |
|
On mine the nut was extremely easy to get off. My Armorers wrench was a tight fit on the flats and as I was pushing it on I felt movement and sure enough the nut was loosening.

Picked up the Scorpion last night and started right away installing the Manicore 3 lug adapter. I definitely wanted to remove the detent spring retainer since it would serve no purpose and just look unappealing to me.
The retainer does clip around the barrel nut. I first attempted to unclip the retainer without removing the barrel nut. There is not much room between the barrel and the handguard so this was unsuccessful. I could get some separation on the retainer and was close to getting it removed but felt If I tried any harder I would have marred something. So I applied a heat gun to the barrel and nut. I had to be careful not to heat up the plastic handguard too much. Using a large crescent wrench I was able to get some movement on the nut. At first I could just rock the nut back and forth but was finally able to get it spun all the way around. Whatever locktight the factory uses is fairly tough. I don't think I could have moved it without the heat. Once the nut was removed it was a simple matter to grip the retainer and pull it off the nut. Reassembly was easy and the CZ Scorpion with the Manicore adapter looks great! |

I've been looking at adapters and I am having a hard time deciding between your three lug and a 1/2x28 adapter. Then I had thought, in the typical arfcom fashion, "Why not both?" So, can these be made with 1/2x28 threads on the end? Similar to this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/coppercustom_website/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/IMG_0204.jpg View Quote Due to the fact we have to "overbore" the interior of the adapter (i..e it is not rifled barrel but larger than the bore so the bullet clears it) there is not enough "meat" left on the device at the 1/2 x 28 threads to do that for my liking. |
