S&W,

I saw the new m&p10 on your website, nicely featured rifle, but why is it only available in camo? Not to mention the fixed stock and 5 round mag? Will the M&P 10 listed on you LE page be availabe to free states or are you not going to sell it to civilians at all?

When I saw M&P10 I thought that maybe they made a 10mm. Oh well a rifle is better than a stupid 10mm

HI, We "currently" have three sku's available of the M&P10. A Camo/Realtree hunting model, and two LEO/MIL models. "At this time" due to the limited availability we are only offering the LEO/MIL version to law enforcement and military customers due to the demand.
THe Barrel is a 4140 Chome Moly barrel, (Durable Corrosions Resistant Coated- a Nitride type coating) that has proven to be extremely durable and long lasting, as well as accurate. The barrel features 5R rifling and 1/10 twist and is chambered in .308.
TheM&P10 is compatible with Magpul/SR25 style magazines, and can accept other aftermarket magazines that are based on the SR25 Specs.
Thanks! S&W

I saw this rifle at SHOT and was impressed. It seems like a lot of rifle, especially at the price point S&W hopes to offer it for. With that said, it will have to be black, and it will have to use standard 308 Pmags so I can use the same stash I have for my Colt & LMT.

I want the camo version because of the heavier barrel. The camo will come off just fine with aluminum oxide.

5/8 x 24 thread pitch for different muzzle devices? Standard barrel nut size for aftermarket FF TUBES? Is the buffer tube mil-spec or commercial?

I really hope S&W offers a tactical version at some point like the 15. I have one and love it. Would love to have a .308 version. Nice gun regardless. Gotta have one.

Can these take a standard FSB instead of a gas block?

You would have to drill the barrel for the taper pins.
