Actually, I have received no satisfaction at all from Optics Planet. I have leasrned to avoid Optics Planet. My money is tied up and they have 14 days maximum(credit card policy) to return my money. They aren't doing me any favors at all! They sold me a used item. I have alerted my credit card company of tis situation. I also learned not to alert anyone on the forums of anything other than great experiences with any vendors!

And everyone has learned you act like a whiny, immature child.

Hopefully every vendor here will read this and refuse your business.

Just becuse the OP come off like a jerk does not make him wrong or make his concerns illegitimate. Yeah, this thread [and the other thread] could have been handled in a less confrontational manner, but OTOH he does have a valid point. Even if it was entirely the OP's fault, say if, theoretically, he found a scope for half price and didn't check the fine print that it was a demo, Cynthia got a chance to display excellent customer service skills. And overall, I think this thread might, when taken in total, be more positive than negative. If we try to shout people down when they bitch about a company, any company, then we encourage everyone to keep bad experiences to themselves, which hurts us all. No company ever has a 100% happy customer base, there will ALWAYS be someone that is unhappy with something. Seeing how a company deals with a customer that seems to have lost their mind is very insightful and should be put on display.

I disagree. this is not "stupid"

regardless of whether or not they fix the problem and replace the scope with a brand NIB model, the fact that they shipped him a used item in the first place and did not make the RMA process as painless as possible NEEDS to be posted.

problems happen, but if we hide them or pretend that they don't, a seller comes out looking perfect, when really they have a track record of problems, but they've all been censored, this happened with CMMG a few years ago, people would complain about their product and customer service, threads would be moved to the industry forum and then locked/deleted... people were none the wiser, until the same issues happened to them

Disagree all you want, it was stupid for the OP to start this thread before he had given Optics Planet a chance to fix the problem. He posted this thread BEFORE he received the used scope.

ETA, I read it after this, so I will admit my opinion of the OP was already forming: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_314/214505_DELETE_THREAD.html

I posted BEFORE I received the scope about incorrect shipping status. Everything was then fine UNTIL I received a used scope. Maybe someone sent a scope in for service; Maybe the scope was in an improper bin, Maybe a lot of things could have happened. The return process was not very easy. CS was not very helpful. The refund process is a joke as well. Sorry, but when I get "shit on" I respond in a way that most feel is unacceptable.

The company is GTG
Have made a fair number of purchases over the last 5 years from Optics Planet and HIGHLY recommend them. In fact I recommend them on a regular basis to friends and customers.

Absolutely, If I am a pain in the ass as a customer(I am) and a company resolves a CS issue, negative publicity turns into positive PR.

It seems like you look for the negative in every transaction so you can get something for free or at a reduced price. In your other post you immediately stated that you were going to notify the BBB and the State Attorney General you also seem to be quick to dispute charges with your credit card company. I used to work in the customer service industry so I know your type, squeaky wheel gets the grease, quick to bitch about problems and slow to praise when a company does a good job. You said you have bought over $5k worth of products from different companies that are sponsors here, but a quick search in the various forums and I failed to find even one thread where you praised a company for doing a good job.

While I am by no mean perfect or remotely close to it, I am a man of integrity. Had I spent that much money with vendors and had positive experiences, I would be long on boasting here and very short on criticism. Additionally, I would give these vendors every opportunity to make up for mistakes made before I went online to denigrate their reputation.

But that isn't what you did is it?

Oh no. What you did is the epitome of classlessness. All you care about is your free this or discounted that. You use ARFCOM in an attempt to inflict financial harm on a company and their employees by bad mouthing them. Why? Because a mistake was made and you didn't get your way. Talk about a a move of pure unbridled douche-baggery, You don't even have the courtesy of calling them first or letting them make it right.

As for facts, are you in 3rd grade? The only facts we have are those YOU post here. Thankfully the vendors, who incidentally have far more credibility than you, have come along to fill us in on the rest of the story.

As I told you in my PM, customers like you are the reason I got out of the retail business.
