We'd like to dedicate a section here to testimonials from some of our customers. We recieved this nice e-mail today from Mr. Elmon Henry who lives up in Alaska:
Windham Weaponry, I first took my new WW AR15 rifle out in -34 degree weather yesterday here in the Northwestern part of Alaska, it fired one shot and the next shell jammed because it was so cold the ejection port cover was slow to open due to the oil freezing in the hinges. This morning, I bought me a can of Kano Kroil Oil and cleaned out the entire rifle and wiped the oil off leaving just a thin film on Kroil oil on the rifle and took it out in the country to check it out. The temp was minus 37 below zero and I shot ten quick shot without any jamming! Awesome, I have found a rifle that I can take out anytime in any type of weather! Thank you so much Windham Weaponry! Elmon Henry, Kiana, Alaska Here's a wonderful e-mail we received on Oct. 27, 2011 from a police officer out west. He asked to remain anonymous to protect his privacy. He writes: To the people of Windham Weaponry, I am a Police Officer and armorer in a mid-west 50+ Officer Police Department. My agency carries AR .223 rifles in the cruisers and I knew I eventually would make a personal purchase. That time came and when some funds were collected, I made my usual trip to the Cop shop. I had a pretty specific idea of which AR15 I wanted, but asked for the sales clerk's opinion as usual because nothing prevents me from learning something new. I advised him that I was looking at brand "X," knew about brand "Y," and showed him I was a cash in hand customer. He came back with the model I asked to look at and it was mostly as expected. As I inspected and asked about the second brand, the LEO sales rep walked past whispering "Windham..." I asked what that was all about and learned about your companys, let's say resurrection. I knew of and utilize Bushmasters often. When the new employee base and particulars of re-organization of your company was explained, I asked to see a model. I inspected a MPC model and conducted a side by side comparison with the two models I had in mind and at the counter. I more or less spent the next ten minutes of the sales staff's time scoring all three on a "lose a point, gain a point" quality system. The Windham won out and the clerk relieved me of my money. Easy enough for the sales clerks and for Windham. Phase two: Fall firearms qualifications at my agency were approximately two weeks later. Our agency's armory maintains about 20 "front line" M4 type .223 rifles. In backup stock there are four which are mainly used during training as well. Our firearms scheduling consists of roughly 6 to 10 shooters a day and during day two three M4 rifles went down due to parts breakage (primarily due to the fact that we train hard on purpose and this year's topic was failure/stoppage corrections). We armorers spent days in and out of the tool room and my own range day came just hours before range time. I loaded up my gear and took along my un-shot Windham MPC. I ordinarily would not utilize my personal collection for work, because frankly it's mine and I don't want it abused. I have come to appreciate my employment and advised range staff I would use my personal MPC so that shooters could progress through the training without a shortage of weapons. My Windham knocked my socks off! Out of the box battle zero attained with one small windage click adjustment. Shot the entire course without one un-planned failure and survived the training. Another agency M4 did go out of service on this day, requiring another hour of armorer work before being considered service ready. The range instructors and armorers present asked how I liked the new Windham. My response was simply, "If I spent the money around here, we'd re-outfit the fleet." Sold customer! Compared to the models I had expected to walk out of the gun shop with, my Windham seemed like the Cadillac. Fit and function was good. Upper to lower rattle not present. Mil-spec "keep it simple" design seemed to be the right idea in keeping the rifle system plan just that: simple. The sales clerk's explanation of the way the company re-emerged made me want to support and stand by you all. Made here, bought here, shot here speaks volumes, at least for me as my wife and I have adopted a U.S.A. made philosophy as of late. The other brands products I considered seemed to be inferior, especially for them. The lower anodizing wasn't even a complete coating in some spots and you could tell it was thinner in other spots. I know metal is metal, but the lack of quality assurance told me something. I then read your company phrase, "Quality goes in before the rifle goes out." Easy to say but not easy to back up. The bottom line: I am a customer service representative's worst nightmare ordinarily. My wife has said there is always a reason I could/should have been happier. For me to take the time to write a company to tell them how pleased I am means I would invite you to dinner: not many people get invited! I enjoy this rifle and take a pride in owning it. I buck the trend often and some say I went with an unknown up and coming. The sales staff told me about your roots and asked me "do you buy Windham's research, experience, and knowledge from past inadequacies that have been addressed, or do you buy something that just had to get to market because ARs are the fad?" He couldn't have said it better because in my mind I took a chance and am lucky I did. I wish you ALL the best of luck in your progress and continued growth. I hope to see your future offerings and hope that some short barrel models are something I can try to convince my employer to go with. |

When i told him i wanted a nice ar for my money, he handed me the windham. He said thats what he carries. I purchased it, free floating rail, and eotech. If it wasnt for scott i would have never purchased this gun. But im so glad i did. So far ive fed about 400 rounds through it, without ANY hangups. Thank you windham and scott!

Actually I recently heard from Scott Young and he is still working here in Maine so it's not him. I'm scratching my head because I can't think of any other Scott I worked with and I worked for the former company 13 years.
I supposed he could have worked for BFI before my time. Anyway, when you see him tell him we said thanks for showing you our guns. |

I went to the local Academy Sports a couple of months ago with the intention of getting another brand AR (something & something 15 sport). Looked at that one and I just didn't like it, so I asked to look at another brand and when he said we also sell Windham Weaponry and pointed to one they had on the rack. I knew nothing of Windham Weaponry and being a " I want it now" kind of guy I asked if they had any that were still untouched NIB and he told me "No. They fly off the shelfs as soon as we get them in". I held it (first time to handle an AR) and the price point was a little higher than what I wanted to spend but after holding it and realizing that it may be a while before they get anymore or have any the next time I go in to the store I decided to go ahead and take a chance. I AM GLAD I DID! I absolutely love the feel of this rifle. It feels like quality. I got it to a range within a couple of days and put 90 rounds of "855"s through it and was extremely impressed with the accuracy of my MPC (sure wish I had brought more). Like I said I was new to the world of ARs and have never shot one (I have previous shooting experience with pistols and shotguns) and my Windham hit the target where I was aiming at right out of the box. It wasn't until I started reading your website that realized the background of your company and the popularity of the product you sell. I am very HAPPY with my purchase and even more pleased with the way your company treats its customers by reading this forum. I even had a T-shirt made with your logo! I know now that if I ever have an issue with my MPC that it will be taken care of (not that I am expecting to have one). Kudos to all that put their skill and sweat into building my perfect first AR. Long Live Windham Weaponry!!!!!

I've been looking for my first AR, and after TONS of research, I settled on the Windham MPC. Seeing the customer service on this forum alone was a big factor in my decision. I picked one up last week, and broke it down the night I brought it home. I was very impressed with the fit and finish. I finally got a chance to get it to the range today, once again, very impressed. Me and a friend put 200 rounds through it, and it never skipped a beat. I believe my buddy will soon be purchasing his own Windham. Just wanted to say thanks for such a great product!

I haven't purchased a rifle in nearly 40 years. Hand guns a plenty. Just no rifles. I started looking for a 7.62 in the AR platform. FNH and a few others. Started counting the cost of shooting one and decided to back down to the 5.56. Being that I carried a Colt in the 70's I had pretty much decided on the 6920LE.
On Sunday night the 9th of April I was flipping through the Cabela's website and came across the Windham "SRC". The price was right, they support the wounded warriors project, and they put Americans back to work. Winners in my book. I started reading everything I could find on the rifle. Everything I read is what I wanted to hear. Everything that you want in a rifle. Solid, quality craftsmanship, great price. Decision made. Sent Cabela's an email and requested P&A. Didn't hear from them on Monday so I also checked Guns America website and found several scattered around the country at prices ranging from $799 to over $1,000. Little gun shop in Sparta TN had one at a price below Cabela's. I ordered the rifle, paid my money, that night and provided a GA FFL drop point. Tuesday Cabela's called and stated they had 4 in WVA store and they would save one. Thanks not quick enough. The following Friday 13 my rifle showed up. I was like a kid at Christmas. I went to OD World and purchased a Eotech 512 Red Dot sight. I went to a local indoor range where I put a set of Magpul MOE sights on for back up. Of course I completely cleaned and lubed it up, loaded several 30 round mags and set up my 25 yd Zero targets. Three round groups that started out in the upper left corner. Within 30 rounds I could cover the ground in the bull with a tennis ball. 9 more rounds for the flip up sights and almost dead on out of the box. An extra 150 rounds down range and the center of the target was nothing but one large whole. In the 190 rounds I only had two FTE. I believe it was due to the use of a brass catcher, but Erik at Windham isn't convinced so he had me send back the rifle. It left on their dime today. I had also ordered a couple accessories online the night before they gave me the RMA. They volunteered to install the new parts while they had the rifle "Free of Charge" and I don't pay any shipping for the new parts. Awesome! This Rifle really is top notch. While Mil-spec. can spell quality, it also spells "CA CHING" it all to the price. If you are not in combat, commercial grade is probably just fine. Remember what an Elephant is. A mouse built to Mil-spec. M Hudson USCG retired |

Thank you!
Sorry about your FTE issue. We test fire everything 10 rounds and thats enough for 99% of the rifles but sometimes a problem might not surface until the 11th round unfortunately. As soon as it gets here I will fix it and get it back out to you the same day. |

So you test EACH AND EVERY rifle with 10 rounds before they leave the factory?

Actually it wasn't #11. It was 67 and 134 that went aerie. The first one happened with a brass catcher, the second without. ;] The rifle is in FEDEX and somewhere north of Orlando.
FYI, I forgot to take the Magpul MOE flip up sights off. |

That's okay, I will take good care of them Yeah sometimes its many more rounds than 10, but usually any major problem shows up in the first 10. Back in my Bushmaster days we had cut back to 5 rounds for a while but it just wasn't catching all of the problems so we went back up to 10. |

I'd like to ask a question that may be a little off topic here, but it is about the Windham. I've seen the 22 rimfire conversion from CMMG. Would using one of these in any way harm the rifle and should be avoided, or is it perfectly fine as long as i clean regularly?

I think we would all agree that any product from any manufacturer can develop a problem after it ships that no one in the factory could possibly find using normal QC procedures. No matter if it's a toaster, a car or in this case a rifle.
Quality in my mind comes when that problem is discovered by the end user, and how the situation is handled. In my case as stated previously in this thread, I had two FTE's in the first 200 rounds down range. I posted here, and sent Erik an email explaining the issue. Immediately he issued an RMA and asked me to package the rifle and send it back. The rifle left my office the next day and arrived in Windham this morning. By 1pm Erik sent me an email, told me what the problem was, what he had done about it, installed some accessories I had order the week prior, packed the rifle and shipped it the same day he got it. I'll have my rifle back by Friday of this week, and I couldn't be happier. If that's not customer service I don't know what is, and that's what I do for a living. I am the Technical Manager for a pump and filter company and deal with customer issues everyday. This is what I strive for. If only more companies could be this responsive. I WILL be purchasing more of the Windham product in the future including the 20" varmint barrel on a complete upper. I've dealt with Cheryl, Erik, and Matt. Great folks. YOUS FOLKS AT WINDHAM WEAPONRY ROCK. You want a good weapon at a good price with great customer service, GO Windham. |

My 77 year old dad bought a Windham last night. Looks like a great rifle and he loves the trigger (have not shot it yet). He gave his M&P to my wife (he hated the trigger). We will be shooting it for the first time Sunday. Can't wait!
ETA: My local range/gun shop owner recommended it! He speaks highly of Windham. |

I have had my WWI SRC for about a month now and I have about 500 rounds through it. I am very satisfied with
the weapon and quality of the workmanship. Thank you for building a great rifle. I was going to build my first AR and then though no I had to buy one. It's the first rifle I have bought brand new! I have am Aim Point on it and it's a tack driver!
Sorry for camera phone photo, but all I have right now. P.S. The BUIS sights co-witness very well! |

I bought a Windham MPC with the Diamondhead sight instead of a carry handle (too bad they don't all have the handle) and I'm impressed
I never was a huge AR guy, (but the Little Woman has a Bushmaster Carbon 15), but with all the rumblings about assault weapon bans, I figured I better get one while I can. I did some research online, but WW wasn't even on the radar when I went shopping last week. The guy at Cabela's showed me all kinds of rifles from DPMS to S&W to really high priced rifles. They had a WW SRC on display on the counter, and I kept looking at it and noticed the finish and the American flag and got a little excited. I asked if they had one with sights and he brought out the MPC I was in love. I bought it, took it home, cleaned it and headed out back to try it out It ran great, no problems, no issues, it was awesome! You guys just made me an "AR guy" |
