I saw the WW Ar at my local shop a few weeks ago and had never heard of Windham. The shop owner told me the WW / Bushy history and after reading the story I went back the next day and bought one. I honestly dont mind if the price is a little higher I am happy to support WW and wish you guys all the best. I think its worth a little more money to support a smaller company and help keep people employed.

Probably by Summer but the first standard style 20" barrel we produce will most likely be a 20A2 gov't profile 1/7

Well in the previous company "HBAR" was only stamped on the barrels that were heavy profile. If the barrels were the 20A2 type (with the thinner profile under the handguards) "HBAR" wasn't stamped on them. So that's the terminology I'm used to. Sorry for any confusion. |

Why do you build an M4 with a 1/9 twist. The only thing holding me back is waiting for a 1/7 twist.
I held a WW at my local Academy and would have bought it except for the twist rate. |

I used to feel this way, but after research it's not really needed for me as I plan on only using .55 grain. From what I have read 1/9 can handle up to .69 grain. It also seems there is a general feeling that 1/7 twist = quality AR. Kind of like most feel that stalking the castle nut = quality AR. When in reality neither have anything to do with the "quality" of the AR. |

We are going to be building 1/7 twist 14M4s with permanently attached flash hiders. Still working on this but it won't be much longer.
As M4Tank stated above you can usually get decent results in a 1/9 twist barrel all the way up to 69gr bullets. I have had decent results with Federal Gold Medal Match 69gr BTHPs. |

When in reality neither have anything to do with the "quality" of the AR. I don't just liken an M4 to quality. I liken it to 1/7 twist. I liken it to a battle rifle and if you are going to use the M4 stamp to describe your weapon, then make it an M4. I thought the quality was top notch and everything about that M4 screamed M4...except the twist. I thought it was an oversight but they were all like that. I reload and shoot a lot of SMK 77 grain BTHP's. Gotta have a 1/7 for that. I have Stag Arms with 1/9 for the lighter stuff, and Spikes with 1/7. Just saying, if you are going to make an M4, then Make it an M4. Don't 1/2 ass it on the twist rate. |

Yes, you usually can. Problem is it's not the weight, it's the length of the bullet that matters. I shoot long bullets from different manufactures at 600 meters. Trust me, you gotta have a 1/7 twist. A 1/9 will keyhole most of my rounds. |

I don't love the roll mark. I dont like all these flourishes in roll marks these days. I hate the spider, the deer head, the bullseye. I like plain roll marks like LMT, FN, the old RRA but I realize thats probably just me.
When I can get a C7 upper and a superlight barrel I will know we can be pals again. |

I am truly looking forward to getting my WW AR-15 this week. I was told that it would be in this Thursday (02-14-13), I got a model with the flip rear sight in carbine length. I spent a little more than I wanted to, but the dealer told me that you make a great product. I had a choice between a DPMS and WW . I obviously chose your company....This rifle will be used for duty carry in the patrol car, and with the SWAT team. I feel that after an EO Tech is mounted that she should be good to go. I will post a picture when she comes in.

Perspective is everything.
But it matters not since I recently got my hands on a WW carbine at a normal price from a reputable dealer. Can't wait to shoot it. |
