Currently in need of advice.....
I'm looking for another suppressor for my AR. (5.56 cal, 10.5 inch barrel)
I currently have an M4-2000 and a YHM Phantom LT that I purchased from Silencershop. Please help me find another excuse to drive to Austin and see yall..
I now want a suppressor for my latest SBR build. I prefer a suppressor that will best handle the abuse from the hot gases of a 10.5 inch barrel.
I noticed the lesser priced models from Silencerco and AAC appear pretty similar to their more pricey counterparts.
To be more specific, I've been looking at the Silencerco Specwar K, and the AAC 556-SD.
I believe Silencerco uses stellite as a baffle material. Is the entire stack or just the blast baffle made out of stellite?
How are the 556-SD baffles built compared to the M4-2000? Is the entire baffle stack made from Inconel?
Is there a big difference between Inconel and stellite?
Most importantly, do I need to buy the higher priced suppressor to get the suppressor that will hold up the best on an SBR? Am I too concerned with baffle material? I read somewhere that for a centerfire can only the blast baffle really needs to be some exotic material.
