Thanks. Would you, or someone who's gone through the process before help me understand if I'm interpreting the update emails correctly?
So far I've gotten three types of update emails:
1st email:
We have allocated the following item(s) for this order:
List of stuff in order
It looks like we already have everything we need to get your transfer started; but, we'll let you know right away if we need anything else.
This one appears to essentially be an order confirmation.
2nd email:
Since you are using Silencer Shop Direct, we will get your Form 4(s) submitted as soon as this initial transfer is approved; and, your items will be held at Local Class 3 Dealer while we're waiting for the final Form 4 approval from the ATF
This one appears to be mainly aimed at letting you know where your stuff will be held later in the process. I don't read this as form 3(s) have been submitted.
3rd email:
Everything looks great, so we'll queue this up to be submitted as soon as the Form 3 approval gets here. You will receive an additional email when this electronic submission has been accepted by the ATF.
I'm interpenetrating this one to mean that form 3(s) have been submitted or are about to be submitted.
For my first order I got email #1 on 7/10, email #2 on 7/11 and then email #3 on 7/25. That all seems right. I haven't seen anything else about that order since. So to me, that would mean they are waiting on the form 3(s).
For my second order I got email #1 on 7/19, email #2 on 7/19, and email #3 on 7/31. Then I got a repeat of email #3 for each silencer in this order on 10/8, presumably when they resubmitted the form 3(s).
Does that all jive with what others are understanding and experiencing?
