Got my "Check Cashed" email on 12/5. Been reloading 300 subsonic since then.
Hope the snow's gone by the time they get here. It would be nice if I could get off the mountain! |

I still haven't seen an approved form 3 from my August order. Never mind the 2 made after that.

^^ I emailed Katie and she said they have my forms, and that they seemed to be backed up on F3s. I'll shoot of another email to her, just don't want to come of needy
EDIT: Ok, this is odd. I just checked my email and I got a message from SS saying "According to our records, you purchased an AAC product that's eligible for their Damn The Man rebate. This rebate can be redeemed for a store credit in AAC's online store." HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?! The trouble is, is that I've already send of this info to AAC for my rebate, and I got a hat some rockset and a ssa trigger. What the heck? So yeah, I'm going to send another email. |

Order was placed on August 8th. Form 3 sent on 9th. I contacted them October 20th since I hadn't heard. Apparently it was lost and already resubmitted October 16th. Called BATFE myself in Novemberish time frame for update and nothing. The person I spoke with said it is currently on someones desk but still pending and was not lost. (??) Called BATFE again in December requesting status again and they said it's on a section heads (Or someones?) desk and to have SS refax all of my forms currently pending at the same time to someones attention directly. SS did this on or around 26 December and it may not have been touched still. Called a 3rd time in late December and still no movement on the persons desk. Called on Wednesday 7 January, I think it was? And talked to the same person SS refaxed the set to, and she said this is out of control and she apologizes and doesn't know what the hold up was, but forwarded me over to the "chief" and he didn't answer his phone. I left him a VM, and haven't heard back from anyone at all. So, I'm SOL. That August order would practically be in my hands already if it weren't for this. I'm not faulting SS, I know it's not their fault there's no movement, but I just feel like I got the super short end of the stick here. Such a bummer. |

Unfortunately with all the new employees at the ATF quality at the ATF has gone down. The flip side is that wait times are getting shorter also.
Granted, I'm fairly stupid, but could anyone clarify this for me:
On 12/31/14, I received an email that stated "Everything looks great, so we'll queue this up to be submitted as soon as the Form 3 approval gets here. You will receive an additional email when this electronic submission has been accepted by the ATF." Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of how long it takes to get the Form 3 approval? I've read through this thread, but my headache is hampering my comprehension. |

Right now we are seeing about 6-8 weeks on form 3 approvals. Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! One more question, do I want to order an Omega? Please say yes. Is the ASR mount too big to fit under a free floating hand guard? I'll be calling your shop to order one tomorrow as soon as my trust is notarized, and didn't realize this. It's not a deal breaker though. |

So, even if the ID if your rail is larger than the OD of the can, it's a hassle to manipulate the lock ring. |
Thanks for clearing that up.. makes sense. I won't be putting a hand guard on the rifle that's longer than the barrel... it should be about the same length. Maybe I'll go a bit shorter for the HG now that you brought this to my attention.

Talked to a local dealer that handled my last 2 transfers from Silencer Shop before they had this program. They said they've done a bunch lately, yet when I called to inquire to see if I'd get a dealer closer than 75 miles, SS couldn't say. Driving 1 mile is better than 75.
Is there not a way I can confirm or request a dealer at time of order? Also, I'd really like to see a retention policy around your receipt of a trust. Saying that it will be "stored/saved until some point where it may get deleted" doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. No one other than me and trustees should have a copy of my trust saved or on file... |

The NC dealer can mail it to your door once it's approved. 2. There are several dealers in NC that you could buy from and not have to wait on a Form 3 (Not to take anything away from SS...they've always treated me well...but there are definitely local/in-state options to consider) |
I'd feel more comfortable picking up in person, but shipping is an option...
I've yet to find a dealer in NC that has a price equal to SS plus $85 transfer fee, and has what I want in stock...happy for you to send me a PM with suggestions... I'm in Wilmington, so nothing is really close although I do visit up in the Triangle area on occasion... From the various forums and Google, I'm aware of the more popular shops in the Charlotte and Triangle area. |

I know when I ordered using SSD, I gave Katie my ZIP (after I paid) and she let me choose my dealer.

It sounds like they have done transfers from SS before, which is one thing, but signing up to be on the Direct program with SS is something different. |

I meant I have her my ZIP and she gave me options to choose from...not that I told her up front which one I wanted. In my case there weren't any within 50 miles, so she asked which one was most convenient. (There's now a much closer option) I know they don't publish the list, but after you've paid you should be able to work it out with them. |

Nothing since September. Who do I call? View Quote I'm seeing mid-September to early October forms showing up. Nothing for two weeks, and suddenly today I get 10 forms in the mail. I've had quite a few come "out of order", and a few have definately taken longer due the NFA Branch not putting postage on the envelope. |

I got the Form 3 / queued email (step 2) on 12/30/14....and the Form 4 review email (step 3) on 01/08/15. At what point should I get worried that the Form 3 has been lost? I'm not really impatient, I just want to circle a date on my desk calendar.
Right now we are seeing about 6-8 weeks on form 3 approvals. So if it was filed on 12/30 I would say about the end of February.
Awesome, thanks SS. BTW, maybe this is a dumb question, but why not make the email updates more aligned with the ATF process/forms...so you get one when the F3 has been submitted... and one when it's been approved... and one when F4 has been submitted... and one when approved. Seems like it's be more clear for consumers that way. Things that are 'queued' and 'reviewed' seem murky and probably confuse some people. Just an idea!
The reason for this is because we review the form 4 before the form 3 is approved and the form 4 is automatically send once the form 3 is approved. As far as the queued part on the form 3 we say that because we actually wait 24 hours before we submit the form 3. The reason for this is several customers either change their mind or want a different dealer so we give them a chance to respond before it is submitted. The email for the form 4 actually says it will be submitted once the form 3 is approved. We send an email once the form 3 is approved and mailed. For the form 4 approval comes in the FFL actually gets the tax stamp notifies you.
ahhhhh, got it. Those extenuating circumstances are things I hadn't considered. So I guess I'll keep my trap shut and be a good consumer and leave running this business up to your guys next time. Keep up the good work!

Woot. Got the shipping notification email today. Stupid ATF needs to get off its ass and get our paper work to us faster.
I got my shipping notification on February 3rd, so I guess that is when my form 4 was sent in. So now when looking at ATF Wait Times on their website (Paper TRUST Form 4: 10/10/2014 through 11/7/2014) do I have to wait for these dates to advance all the way to Feb. or closer to the date the order was placed (Dec.)?
You are looking for the ATF wait times to get to February since that is when the form 4 was filed.
w00t! Just got my shipping notification. Purchased on 12/30. Form 3 took a little while (thanks atf) but its 'all good', I should have my can before the 41p monster swoops in! (fingers crossed!)

I just received my form 3 approval after 54 days and my cans shipped to my local dealer for anyone wanting an estimated current wait time. Now the real wait begins.

So does SilencerShop send out another email when the form 4 gets approved (like they do for the form 3), even though the stamp will get sent to a different dealer (since I am out of state)? Or is it all on the LGS?
No the FFL will contact you since they are the ones that receive the approved form 4.
