Looks like I will have to wait to purchase my suppressor...just moved to a new house and seems like I need the new address on my license?

You won't get notification that the F3 is approved, but you will be notified when they ship it to your local dealer. Quoted:

That is correct it won't make a difference until you pick it up.

Not sure if I have to enter my current address anywhere on the trust or forms. Your mailing address goes on the forms. Have you already moved and just not updated your license? (Based on your previous post, that seems to be the situation...so put your new address on the F4). That shouldn't be a problem by the time your stamp is approved and you go pick up your can (or have SS mail it to you). The approved F4 will be mailed back to SS, not you. Even if you move in-state, it wouldn't be an issue since you'll have a TX DL and a copy of the trust that shows you as a trustee. Most trusts don't have an address...some include addresses of the trustees to help with identification. |

F3's are taking 3 to 4 weeks right now, although it seems like we've had a small hiccup in the last month or so. But they seem to be back on track. F4's are taking 5 months. Just got some in today, submitted 6/17, approved 11/16. So it would seem safe to say that right now, end to end, you are looking at 6 months...... and BigWaylon, your forms are likely at your dealer now if they were sent in around the same time. And assuming your dealer was "Johnny on the spot" about sending in their Delegate form to the NFA Branch...... |

And assuming your dealer was "Johnny on the spot" about sending in their Delegate form to the NFA Branch...... View Quote 1. My last two were 9/17->10/25 & 10/6->11/16. Haven't seen any reports of the 3-week forms in months 2. I just had a 7/14 (mailed date) approved on 11/13. That's right...one day shy of four months. The other two were mailed 6/14 and approved 11/19, but had an error letter to deal with. 3. I'm not sure that's safe to say, but we can hope. With the new fiscal year having started recently, I expect things to slow up a little without the OT. Although, they're also getting some of the new examiners more into the load. But, then when have holidays and vacations. Who knows? I have six more with 10/22 pending dates (mailed in two sets, 9/18 & 9/25). In stock locally, so just the F4. I'm guessing somewhere 1/20-2/20, with fingers crossed. 4. Not sure what forms you're talking about. The three F4s I've had approved recently (don't have any pending F3s) were two handled by SS that were approved on 11/19 and one some locally approved on 11/13. The local ones weren't in the envelope of approved forms that arrived yesterday (he got a mix of 11/10-11/13). Maybe by Tuesday. The two from SS were approved 11/19, so no way they're at the dealer, yet. Not sure how many cans they sell through SSD, but I'd hope they have their paperwork squared away. Same dealer has a 3rd SSD can that had F4 mailed on 7/21...no approval, yet. |

NFA Branch sent out error letters on some of the very first SSD-submitted Form 4's because they didn't have a Delegate Form on file saying SS could submit on the SOT's behalf. View Quote They had it on file but it was not entered into the system. We had to send several letters to the ATF but it is taken care of now. |

You're not the transferee or transferor on the Form 3, so they don't have to tell you anything when you call. I've had luck a time or two if you phrase the question just right and the person answering the phone is feeling generous. However, there are people on here that call the NFA Branch and say they're with the transferee/transferor and get the info that way. Maybe SS will call if you ask? |

Sadly I'm in the same messed up boat.
I placed an order in August. The form 3 was submitted on 9 August. Then I e-mailed asking for a status update on 20 October, thinking that would have been enough time. They replied and let me know it was lost and they had resubmitted the form 3 on October 16th. Here we are the 18th of December and I shot them another e-mail a day or two ago (I wanna say I sent it on the 16th of December?) and haven't heard back as to what's going on. I have 3 orders in with them right now, submitted 8 August, 26 November (I think?) and 4 December. So I definitely have faith in them, but so far this process has been pretty crappy in regards to the ATF portion. Heck that 8 August can should basically be in my hands in the next month if things went properly. But no. |
|
So, apparently the ATF lost my F3, and SS had checked end of October, found out it was lost , and resubmitted. Hopefully F3 approval is soon! I'm right in the middle of the 6-8 weeks right now on the second F3.

Waiting for the shipping of the suppressor is almost more unbearable then waiting for the ATF. It's taking a lot of self restraint to not hop in a car and make the 11 hour round trip to Austin to pick my first suppressor up. I think the Holidays might screw me on the waiting time, depending on a few factors.
Out of curiosity, which carrier does SS use to ship? |

SS, any chance you guys could respond to my e-mail I sent on Monday? I know I'm probably bugging you and for that I apologize, but the site is stating 10/22 - 11/10 now on the Form 3's and my second one was sent on the 16th. I'm really hoping the second one isn't lost too. That'll really suck.

Question;
I've started the procedure for the shipping of my suppressor; I've sent the signed 4473 back to Silencer Shop, which they've received, and I assume they have sent the notification to my CLEO, and I am in the middle of the 7 day waiting period. Due to other circumstance, there is a chance that I might be in Austin this weekend. Is it possible for me to pick up the suppressor even though the shipping process has already been initiated? Thanks. |

Hmmm. Wonder if mine got lost too. The last email I got from SS was on September 9th that my paperwork has been reviewed and was ready to submit. Think I should chill out, or call SS?

I've had a few Form 4's come way out of date sequence from the NFA department. In those cases, it was clear that they forgot to put POSTAGE on the envelope, so it got round-tripped to them. You'd think that a department that is literally "all about the stamps" would be better about putting a STAMP on the envelope!

I got an email for Katie today. The ATF has my paperwork but for some reason my form 3 is in limbo. She got in contact with auditors to,see if we can move it along. Great CS from SS.

Im waiting on a form 4 using SS direct (out of state transfer). Check cashed early November. Just wanted to clarify who would notify me of the approval. Would it be SS or the local dealer? The last email said that SS would notify me. Am I correct?

Either the email or the website did seem to imply they would...can't remember. Might've even been an IM I got from a different SS rep instead of Jeremy (same one that incorrectly first said paper F4s were filed at the same time as the F3) But I will confirm that the local dealer is who called me when my three paper forms were approved around Thanksgiving. |

You are correct with eforms we were notifying the customer but we have no way of know with the paper file.

it's only been like a week since I got the 'step 2' email and it already feels like a long time. efile / Form 1s definitely have me spoiled, my last one took right about a month. This paper form 3/4 stuff brings teh suck by comparison!

w00t! Got the "step 3" email this afternoon. Progress! Now I just have 4-5 months to buy threaded bbls, subsonic ammo, and the 300 SBR upper I need.
