My brother has a AA Beowulf mated to a Cav arms lower. It shoots fine up until the point I installed an AA brake on it. Now with every shot the mag release is tripped and the mag drops out.
The release is in spec, along with the spring and button. I had replacement parts so I swapped them out just to see if it made a difference. It did not. Oddly this never happened when the rifle didn't have the brake. I am thinking of trying to find a heavier mag release spring to solve the problem. Has anyone had this issue? If so what was your solution? Thanks |

Honestly, that is a new one!
We typically do not suggest using the polymers lowers for the Beowulf as they will flex under the recoil. What generation lower is that? |

It's one of the "Cav-aid" MKII lowers. I swapped the upper to a forged lower and it worked fine. I guess the Cav lowers just can't handle to torsional stresses.

Funny how it worked before you added the muzzle brake though! I suppose the extra force might have been deforming the mag well enough to hold the magazine in place, but who knows.
Anyway thank you for the information. If anyone now asks we have at least one data point. |
