I just use blue loctite on anything that has threads and on a gun. They say finger tight is enough. Would like an answer to this as well. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Should loctite 242 (blue) be used on the rings and or the base screws ? Do the base screws just need to be finger tightened to stay in put or do they need to be set to a particular torque value ? I just use blue loctite on anything that has threads and on a gun. They say finger tight is enough. Would like an answer to this as well. Once mine bottomed out, I turned it one more flat or 1/6 of a turn. |

Once mine bottomed out, I turned it one more flat or 1/6 of a turn. Can't speak for the Geissele's but on my Nightforce mounts I did not use loctite on the base screws. I wouldn't on the rings unless they back out which I've never had happen. This is of course using a torque wrench and screwing it down to proper torque values. |

I ordered some more Super Precision the other day. Seems that I was in error when I ordered my medical fundraiser mount, and I don't actually have a 34mm scope (yet). D'oh.
So, to tide me over until I can get a new scope to go with it (which I was planning on getting soon anyway), I figured I'd just go ahead and get a mount to fit the scope that I DO have on my main CW rifle. win/win. |
|
Anxiously awaiting 34mm hyper extended and ACOG to be in stock.

Will there be a SOPMOD Certfied for a normal 30mm mount?
On the Geissele website I only one specifically made for the Vortex Razor 1-6, in th 30mm variety. |

Vortex is an option but I'm leaning more toward a Leupold at the moment. |

I am looking for one of these mounts for a vortex viper pst 1-4x24. I know I need the 30mm I'm just not sure if I need the extended ect... Can someone point me in the right direction please. Thanks!

View Quote You gotta figure out where you need the objective to have proper eye relief. Get behind the rifle in every position and see where you need to have the optic to see properly at full magnification. You don't have to be exact, but get an idea how far forward or back. |

So it should still fit with a NF 2.5-10x24mm optic?? Not sure if I should get the extended or the SoPmod certified Vortex . Seems the difference is .77 vs .63 on the spacing. Not much |
|
I mean tube diameters are as unilaterally standardized as the AR-15 platform, or more so. The optimization for the vortex comes from the height of the mount to obtain ideal cheekweld on an AR carbine. That said, height is user-dependent, as is "extendedness" bc cheek weld and eye relief are body dependent. I would venture a guess that unless you need the objective nearly halfway down the upper receiver the standard length will be just fine.

I need a mount and want it to be a G. My concern is objective bell clearance. Will these mounts work for an optic with an 50mm objective bell? My specific optic is http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-viper-pst-4-16x50-ffp-riflescope-with-ebr-1-mrad-reticle/reticle

View Quote Do you have more pics of that SR set up? I'm thinking about grabbing the AR15 standard 34mm 20MOA model for my ATACR instead of waiting for the SR25 extended 34mm 20moa (front lug to front ring spacing is the issue. |

What are you guys using for 1-6 or 1-8x scopes, "standard" or "extended"? Even though I may end up with another Vortex, I'm probably better off getting the non-SOPMOD version I assume...for flexibility?

View Quote Depends on how you like to shoot and how much eye relief the particular scope you're using has. I like to shoot NTCH and am using a Razor 1-6x which has 4" of eye relief. I went with the Hyper Extended mount because it gives me the most flexibility. If you typically shoot with your stock scooted out 2+ notches and your head placement isn't NTCH, you'll probably be fine with the extended. Just remember, though, you can always scoot an extended or hyper extended mount backwards on the receiver (provided you don't have any BUIS interference). You can only scoot a standard mount so far forward before you end up bridging the receiver/handguard. |
|
The extended would be a good choice if you are unsure. The Extended would put you in the middle as far as wiggle room goes.
-Geissele Customer Service |
|
Yeah I think extended will be the way to go. Scope will have around 4" of eye relief and I don't quite shoot NTCH
Thanks. |

Any chance of a future T1 offset optic mount? Offset which way? Whoops! 45 degree offset mount. Would be a lovely pairing with current line up. To attach on the rail or off the mount itself? |
|
To attach on the rail. Although one that attaches to the mount is intriguing... I don't think it's ever been done before! But it sounds difficult to have an offset version for each acog/scope mount.

Can you say what version/versions the military is purchasing? Color? Offset? Which alloy?

Do the 2099 mounts use Ti clamps and bolts and nuts?
What is the actual weight of a 7075 and the 2099 complete 34mm ar15 platform extended mount? Is this the recommended configuration for the leupold m6ci? |

Is there any chance of a 1.93" height mount being made? I'm in the market for a new mount and would love to give you all my business! One of the best companies out there in every way as far as im concerned! Keep up the good work!
