So I have been the proud owner of several Geissele rails. Had a 15 in mk1, a mk4 and recently a mk4 keymod.
I absolutely love them all. Wonderful quality and one of the top 3 best looking and performing rails on the market. My questions is, where the hell did they all go? Why are so many of them being discontinued? The only rails that can ever be found is the lame mk2. These rails were on the way to becoming one of the most popular handguards on the AR market. Where did they all go? I'm aware that they are going to make a mk6 and 7 (anyone have details) but why discontinue the ones that were already out and awesome, why not wait at least until the new ones launch? |

Their web site is listing almost all the rails under Limited Production on the left in the filters.

Sent you an IM. Can you send me one as well? I was curious too. It was just a link with a couple MK3's in stock. Thanks though, to the guy who sent the link. I just think it's stupid to discontinue all these rails that were in hot demand. Some of which (the MK5 and MK4 keymod weren't even being produced but for several months). All that's available are MK2'S and MK'3s. |

You have to click on the "Next Page" box to see the other four. It was not just "a couple MK3's in stock". Also, I found another site with 4s and 5s in stock. Apparently I made this too difficult. I won't make that mistake again. |

These are still available at most online retailers because no one wants 9.5 inch handguards. Once they finally sell out, they will be gone forever, apparently, as well. The original posting was an inquiry as to where these rails are going and why they aren't for sale anymore. My fault for not making that clear enough. |

Make a limited production of each rail for a short amount of time and discontinue it. Come out with a newer model every several months (no one needs 8 revisions of the same rail). Make it look like they are rare and hard to get. Sell out immediately. Making a sufficient quantity for your loyal customers and making a quality product at a fair price is old fashioned I suppose. |

No problem here with sandy vags. You asked and I answered. I have found multiple sites with 9.5 to 15 inch Mk Is to Mk Vs in stock. Being a "fully aware" 13er like you are, I'm sure you will find them too. Remember that Google is your friend, BRO. |

I just want an MK6 or MK8 :) hah Do you have any info on the MK6, quad rail? Just about what I read in the other thread... Says it going to be similar to the MK7 rail just normal weight vs the competition weight. Theres a photo or two of the Mk7 that geissele posted. |

Yes, they are still making rails. There is a newer mk6 that will apparently be a quad rail and a mk8 that will utilize the ridiculous m-lok system. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Seems to have the same features as keymod, but also allowing smaller adjustment increments. Any idea when those new models will become available? |

MK8 is still slotted for the Fall. I think folks will appreciate the MLOK system once they get it in hand.

All I need are as many MK2 RevB DDC rails as I can get... No need for all these other rails.
That rail is perfect/ion. |

I just don't see the need for yet another direct attachment system when keymod is working fine and there still aren't barely a handful of accessories that support it. I'm not really bashing it I suppose, I just think it's going to suck for the people who have a lot of keymod rails to have to upgrade to m-lok if the m-lok surpasses it. Plus, other than their mags and stocks, I'm not really a fan of anything magpul. Sorry if this hurts anyone's feelings. If m-lok turns out to work great then I'll sell my keymod rails and upgrade to m-lok I suppose. I just hope that companies other than magpul will jump on board and make more accessories for it than they have the keymod. |

There are already more manufacturers on board for M-LOK than Keymod. The market is big enough to support both but I feel that M-LOK will turn out to be the more popular system. Time will tell. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

If m-lok is successful then I hope keymod fades out completely... and vice versa. I don't want two different rail systems that I have to buy two separate kinds of accessories for and I sure don't see the need for both when they both do the exact same thing. That being said, as long as there are plenty of accessories for it then I'm kind of rooting for the m-lok system. I do like the design a little better. |

We are switching our line over to MLOK and will be doing limited runs of our other rails going forward this way we can keep up with demand on the MLOK models. The other models will still be available but on a limited basis, as they will be ran less frequently.
