My question to you is why private label when automotive grease/oil works just fine for almost any firearm application and is dirt cheap compared to the tiny bottles sold as "gun lube".

Hey all... I'm in the lubricants industry and the recommendation of Mobil 28 caught me off guard. So I have to ask...why does geissele recommend it specifically?
The only advantage to a clay based grease vs. Soap based greases is the temps. I don't see the trigger pins being a point of concern about too much heat really.
So my question over all is... why Mobil 28?
Second question for them is would anyone at geissele be interested in a private label grease vs. Just recommending Mobil 28?
My question to you is why private label when automotive grease/oil works just fine for almost any firearm application and is dirt cheap compared to the tiny bottles sold as "gun lube".
Because major oil companies for the most part don't make their own grease.
Just like gun oil makers don't blend their own product.
For less then Mobil branded product you could get the same product or better, for less.
What's the fastest way from first to third? Through the pitchers mound. Same idea.
Edit:
Mostly curious why Mobil 28. Vs say an aluminum complex or a moly lithium complex. Private label or whatever isn't a big deal.
