I was given a BAD-ASS for eval by a guy I've been working with on a project.
He sent it to me with the nub removed so it would just drop in. I know this invalidates my warranty, but I can deal with that. Better than cutting my lower. I understand BAD's policy, just gotta make it work for me.
The rifle is a DDM4, with a MOE grip. There weren't any fitment issues with it, although I did use the supplied selector detent.
Installation was as easy as any selector installation. I really hate removing FCG parts as I suck getting disconnectors back in place. I was pleased that you could swap selectors without taking it out. That wasn't really a surprise, but it was something I hadn't considered until I put it in.
I tried several different combinations. One thing I've (and most people) always hated about ambi selectors is it digging into the web of the thumb on fire. The 45 degree helps to mitigate that effect, as does using the correct lever. I tried the thin standard length, and while it was comfortable, I had trouble catching the switch to manipulate the safety consistently with it being so thin. In the end I chose a standard size lever for my thumb and a half size lever for the opposite side, I found this combo to be the most comfortable and intuitive to use.
I played around with this rifle doing ready-ups and I swapped between the DDM4 with the BAD-ASS and an A4 with a standard safety to compare.
I really like it. While it is faster to use, I also really like how I don't need to change hand position to safe the weapon. I always have to reach to flick the selector with my thumb to safe the rifle. With this I just move it up with no change in hand position. This is an ergonomic improvement that seems all too obvious in retrospect.

I can't comment on how stable this will be over the long haul. I know there's been some worry about the screws coming loose, but I don't think it will be an issue. I thought about using some loc-tite, but I am always nervous when using that stuff as I don't want to make this accidentally permanent.
