We have been moving away from the Teflon coating for a number of reasons, the biggest is the "sheen" factor, although every upper/lower is a consistent true black with Teflon, the amount of "sheen" varied from batch to batch, causing the mismatch look, similar to the degree of blackness issue with plain hard coat anodizing which was our reason for adding Teflon coating in the first place.

On uppers we started offering a couple of different finishes to match the majority of the lowers out on the market.

If you have any problems getting the new upper matched up with one of our lowers, let me know and we can get the upper swapped out for you.
