I have a Scout Light mounted with a Gear Sector Mount to an Ultimak gas tube rail on an Yugo Underfolder AK.
Since that expatiation might be hard to follow, here is a picture:
It works pretty well as it but since the light is so far back, the front sight creates a shadow. A mount that clamped onto the Ultimak, and then doglegged forward and to the left, with the Scout on it would either solve or at least mitigate this issue. Are there any plans for a mount like that in the works? Or is there another mount out there that would work? Thanks. |

IWC's finalizing design of a new mount product line... for 1913 Rails. But we're at least 6 months away. These are not your normal mounts anyone can make using a cross bolt. IWC's will solve a lot of problems at a great value point.
Your rifle does present a problem because of the gap between the rail and the FSB. Let me look into it. MOUNT-N-SLOT |

I thought I remember reading that 1913 mounts were in the works. I am happy to hear that you are still working on it. My rifle config does present some issues. I could solve them by Dremmeling off the grenade sight, but I am not quite ready to go that far yet... If I can be of any help, let me know! |

Awesome!
Are these reversible? For my application I need it to mount on the top rail and hold the light to the left of the front sight. OK, after further reading, this image shows how I need to mount the light on my AK. However, I would like to verify that this mounting setup is possible and this image is not a mirror flip or anything.
Thanks! |

Hi bobapunk, Both DROPWING and THORNTAIL are fully AMBI and reversible. I'll have some pics up later today showing THORNTAIL mounted on either side of IWC's LMT MRP CQB. Order yours with confidence today... MOUNT-N-SLOT |

Hi bobapunk,
#8 pass thru #2 & the recoil slots in the 1813 rail and thread into #3. #3 is threaded on both sides, making it ambi. We think it's a really innovative approach to a mount and have filed patents to protect it. MOUNT-N-SLOT |

That is really ingenious! Good luck with the patents!

Are these shipping from anywhere yet?
You website says that they are not going to be in-stock for another 9 days. Can anyone confirm if this mount will fit over the Yugo folding grenade sight without modification to the mount or the sight? Thanks |

I posted some pics in the OP. I'll try to get some clear close ups, if it will help.

Hopefully these photos will help:
Bottom, non-ejection port side, looking at an upward angle
Top, ejection port side, looking at a downward angle
Front, muzzle looking toward receiver I am a little concerned about having enough clearance between the bezel of the light and the grenade sight. I don't need the grenade sight to be able to be flipped up, I just want the light to fit without touching it. Thanks! |

Thanks! Thanks for the pics! THORNTAIL's cantilevered mounting arm makes contact with the rail all the way forward to where the Scout Light attaches, which would occupy the same surface your grenade sight does. So it will not work. Sorry!!! MOUNT-N-SLOT |

I ordered a Thorntail a few weeks ago. I'm so excited to get this thing, especially after seeing it mounted on the 12:00 rail but still placing the light out in front at 11:00. Absolutely perfect.
