I agreed to pay $5xx then you think you can simply change that amount to $1,xxx without my express permission?! I don't think so. You either cancel the orders, get everyone's permission, or honor the prices. Charge a penny more and you'll be getting a chargeback. |

How am I supposed to cancel my two orders?
Their website doesn't even have the functionality to do so.....send an email to an inbox with 23,100 unread messages from the weekend? Sit on hold while their three customer service interns get yelled at by scores of angry customers? . |

There are definitely plenty of thin skinned people involved in this disaster but I assure you I am not one of them. I totally understand the hate on Troy for the whole Lon Horiuchi thing. What I dont understand and what I am really disappointed by in all of these threads is the piss poor manners and chest puffing going on with this sale. If this would have been a Arfcom sale or just about any vendor in good standing with the Arfcom mob would have everyone backing them up and hammering the few posters that were brave enough to complain. But since this was Troy the evil bastard no one will deal with unless they think they are screwing them over the dogpile commenced. I also agree that Troy should just cancel all the orders with multiple coupons and give people the offer to re submit with one. |

We understand that some confusion lies in the different promotion codes that were used to advertise our July Fourth Sale online this weekend. Five codes were created for five groups with each group receiving the same 25% off discount, special and free offers. These unique codes will help us understand our marketing efforts and influence future advertising and sales initiatives. The terms of the sale were clearly stated to all five groups with the standard restrictions including "cannot be combined with any other offers". Customers who ordered during the promotion may notice a hold on their account. Troy Industries does not finalize orders or charge credit cards until the order is ready to process and ship. Thank you for your patronage. You’ll be receiving your final invoice in the next few days reflecting: one promo code and 25% savings, a free BattleMag® and free UPS ground shipping if the order total exceeded $100. If you have yet to take advantage of our Independence Day promotion, visit troyind.com and use code “FOURTH” at time of checkout to take 25% off your order. It's an authorization or hold for at least that amount. Just like hotels do and every other company out there. In this case, a website is automated so the input it received shot out the hold for that amount. As Troy finalizes orders, they can adjust that number up or down and settle the final amount at time of shipping. Just because your credit card website says one number does not mean that's what it'll be. Another perfect example is gas. Most gas stations will put a hold of $1 but that doesn't mean your 20 gallons will cost only a buck. They'll settle the final charges after the transaction ends for the full amount and it could take several days to appear on your credit card for the final amount. I've seen some gas stations hold $150 first and then settle it for less. Some people weren't too happy with that Those that jumped on this are fully accountable for whatever happens. Everyone knew from that troll thread undefined made that it wouldn't last. If you get billed the final amount, many will be laughing at you. Unless, of course, you did want the product. |

People are pissed because they found a loop-hole on troys website for stacking. I get it and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they won't honor orders with all the coupon staking. Not sticking up for Troy but come on. I looked at their prices on their website and even with 25% off it still not a great deal. Who cares they give you one battle mag an order. Most people have more mags than they know what to do with. Instead of charging MSRP on all your products on your site how about cutting prices down and then give people 25% off. Mags for 15.00 ea when I've seen them for under $10 sometimes. Rear folding sights for $119.00 when another vendor has them for $75.00. Where's the saving? I get it but why throw a sale when it's not really a good price to begin with.

Probably because anybody with two brain cells to rub together knew it was a malfunction and nobody wanted to go to work and fix the website on a holiday for what is an obvious mistake. If you pull up to the gas station and the sign reads "$ .69/9 do you expect to buy gas for 69.9 cents per gallon or do you recognize there is something wrong? If you go to the grocery store and there is no price tag on a gallon of ice cream is it free? I swear to god these threads always end the same. Your examples do not come close to comparing to what troy did.... The example above me is a bit more in line Only because it fits your agenda better. His scenario is 25%+/- off, the Troy malfunction is 60% off, not even remotely close to the same. Can you legitimately say you think that Troy intended to sell at 60% off? Even at 60% off they are still making at least 25-50% profit if not more on some products. Oh really? So you think their typical margin is 85 to 110%, what leads you to believe that? So, I'll ask you the same question , " Can you legitimately say you think that Troy intended to sell at 60% off?" A profit margin can't be more than 100%, BTW. Profit/Price = margin. Ok just want to make a few things clear.
1. They are not willing to do anything at this time other than cancel your order or ASK you to pay more 2. If you don't contact TROY, the will be contacting you (to either cancel or re-agree to pay for the same goods at a higher price) 3. If you don't respond/contact them they told me they are not sending the items out and not charging additional fees (without your consent) I hope this answers the questions some of us had. The whole "wait and get charged more than you authorized, and dispute" process is a no-go. Might as well cancel now..... Anyone have any different (confirmed info)? ETA- the story I got was a newsletter was sent out (must have been different ones given the different codes), they were posted on sites (like ar15.com) and then used despite the newsletter (keep in mind many of us NEVER saw it) stating the "no stacking rule". I'm not too surprised, If it were my company, and I had a bit better idea of margins, # of lost customers of this etc, I would AT LEAST offer something more than "Hey I'll be happy to cancel your order." I mean they could at least say "Look, we aren't honoring 60+% off. The upper was supposed to go no lower than $499, we will compromise by giving you $100 off the lowest (499) price. The funny thing is now they are saturated with orders for the uppers most of which are going to be canceled or tied up due to people not responding. And miss out on selling them. |

Oh well... Now I know better about TROY... the story goes: Troy sent me and at least a few hundred others a code that clearly said "an EXTRA 25%" off... I took that as on top of the 25% they gave to general customers, meaning 50%... I know others took it that way too, cause I was not the only one to bring that to their attention... This was brought up to them and they acknowledge that the wording was indeed "EXTRA" yet they have still renigged on the deal... Their sales team cancelled my order but offered me SWAG or a shirt if I would kept the order but only at the single 25%... I have a feeling they knew some of what was going on...
