Just picked up a new rifle at a shop that used to always carry Troy. They had none I went with the new Magpul MBUS PROs and don't regret it one bit. View Quote Well done. Fuck you Troy. Hmm, stopped by the LGS today and saw a Troy 18' rifle that I was interested in. Liked the length of the barrel, that rail was slim, light and although that stock was a bit funky it worked and was comfortable. Only thing I hated was the grip (that sucked, but I could have changed it out). Was thinking about buying it, so I decided to do a bit of research before buying it.. At the end of a long thread on m4carbine.net there were a ton of reviews on it there was a link linking Lon Horiuchi/Dale Monroe with Troy and HS Precision. I clicked on it and started reading. That led me to page after page talking about this.
One of the better articles... http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/08/daniel-zimmerman/what-the-hells-the-problem-with-troy-industries/ I don't know where the fuck I was during August, but I hadn't heard about any of this before. After learning of this silliness I wouldn't accept FREE merchandise. This is absurd. |

I hope dale is bringing in a lot of JBT training business to make up for the lost sales. His salary is turning out to be very high indeed. Must be a hell of an instructor.
I've bought rifles from PWS, LWRC, and ST since this all started. None of them have a single troy part. |
|
oh my god...wow. just wow...I didnt even know of this incident until about 12 hours ago when I started reading..back in 92 when this went down i was only 6 years old, but anyways, after hours and hours of reading, I am done with Troy products. I was going to order sights, but not anymore. Now I'm happy to pay the higher price for KAC sights. good bye Troy. You lose.

Just to hold the line, I've got a Noveske build going. No Noveske/Troy sights for me. Magpul Pros for me.
I also saw battlemags for $10 at a local shop. This is what I always ran my 300 BO in. A nice big pass on those too. No more. |
|
I rebuilt my Colt 6920. Took the fixed front and Troy rear off and replaced them with MBUS Pros.

Love your VFG and sights. Best out there bar none.
I will keep looking for replacements as you will never see any cash from me again. |

Speaks volumes that Troy hasn't been back to address this issue....

Well I am in need of some new sights and I think I am going Magpul MBUIS Pro
Troy has fumbled quite a bit lately and as a result Troy won't be seeing any of my money either.... |

Who cares if Troy hires government thugs that publicly terrorized and murdered people? Dude doesn't stand behind his product anyway. Troy is probably the only American gun industry manufacturer that doesn't.
NBD, move along. There are plenty others in the industry to take up the slack. I bought one rail from them, it arrived broken, I immediately called them up and they refused to replace it. Scumbags. I didn't need to know anything about their shitty company. The rail is a piece of shit that relies on terrible engineering and parts. Junk made by scumbags. Did I mention they're bad? |

i wonder how many troy haters posted in this thread saying they'll never buy another troy product placed an order over the 4th of july weekend?
|
|
- I'm not cancelling anything.
- If the price increases on my card I'm disputing the charge and Troy can have fun with that 100% loss. |

I was about to make a purchase at Troy Ind. but after I kept reading about what they have done, fuck them. No discount makes up for the stance they have taken. Fuck Troy.

The only Troy stuff I own is a set of LWRCI branded sights that came on my 10.5" upper. And I put them on an upper I got for my father, so I don't even have them.. But I will be getting another set of Magpul iron back ups to put on there... |

Not only did I refuse to order anything from them, I talked 2 others out of ordering from them.
They called me to make sure I saw the big sale (not so big after all) and I schooled them on the history of Troy's new hires. They were shocked to say the least and didn't press the order button either. I then pointed them to other sales I had found over the Independence Day weekend from manufacturers and vendors who share our values. |
|
First I have heard of this. I have always been a big fan of their sights but can't support a company with these ethics. Have already started spreading the news among my gun-part-buying friends.

View Quote I did not/will not buy anything from Troy until their moral compass finds a new bearing. I actually need a few pairs of BUIS but they screwed the pooch on their sights with the new universal design anyway. Sorry, but Troy can keep their "universal" NATO sights and their big stack of coupons as my money is going elsewhere... Hopefully the coupon stack thing was intentional to get some dust covered inventory out of their warehouse |

I see mention of this a lot now when someone asks about a troy product on other sites.

I keep checking back here to see if they've gone out of business yet.

well, i sorta got the gist of whats going on here.
i was sold on an alpha rail.. anyone want to recommend me another? |

They have a pretty good variety of lengths for their super slim, key mod and new Magpul M-Lok free float rails. Plus, I've never read anything bad about their products let alone anything close to this garbage. Also, all of their rifle parts are American made. |

Troy screwed up too many times recently. The 4th of July sale was double screwed (stacking & "extra" savings email) and the nail in the coffin. I'm just waiting for them to drop Arf, to see the OEMs drop Troy, and to see them close their doors. |

My first post as a new user- I was trying to do some research on Troy's SDMR and found a lot of anti-Troy sentiment. Further research into it reveals the Weis and Monroe issues. I read Steve's post above, but then found out he fired Weis........that doesn't jive with his "choose to do what's right, even if my stance goes against others opinion." Looks like with Weis, he cow towed to others' opinions. So between that and Monroe, I've decided against a SDMR.
|
|
Damn. I was all excited when I saw the new carbon fiber forearms, but bummed when I saw no further action had been taken on this issue.
MI, here I come... |
|
Shake my head every time I run into troy products at the store or online.
Not a dime from me every again. |
|
I had a Troy Alpha Rail or Midwest SSK as potentials on the wishlist for my "some day" second build. Heck, the Midwest rail for only $10 more, and keymod to boot!!. Neato!! I love it when questions answer themselves. Thanx Steve.

|
|
I with Troy Ind would just die off already. Never a dime of my money...
|
|
I just picked up a 15" UTG PRO rail, made in USA, KeyMod for $159 - gotta say it's surprisingly NICE. no more alpha rails for me.

|
As was posted above, I missed the story on this.
I find it interesting that many of the premier heavily supported companies here, such as Bravo, do stock parts, sell and assemble uppers using Troy parts... They have a different view? I don't have any Troy and now, won't. |
|
Wow, I can't believe this whole fiasco escaped me till now. Just in time though as I am planning a build. No more Troy parts for me. The fact that so many former Troy fans and customers are completely outraged by the continued employment of Monroe and the owners of the company stand by this decision seems like business suicide to me. I will be sure to pass this along to every gun enthusiast that I think could be a potential customer. You reap what you sow!!

Hello, all -
Just want to make sure that you are all aware that neither Dale Monroe nor Jody Weis are affiliated with any TROY Division in any capacity and they have not been since this story broke in August 2013. Any reference you see to continued employment is completely untrue. You do have a choice, we understand this. All we ask is that you judge our accessories and weapons on their features, benefits and value. We are changing our internal processes to avoid programming mistakes like the July 4th code stacking sale; the Thanksgiving Day Sale was such an unprecedented success that we are STILL trying to get caught up with the last of the Bravo rifle orders. For those of you that have taken the time to reach out for clarification via Facebook post or private message, we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns one on one. We thank you for actively listening and getting the most current information. You'll see us around here a lot more! It's just another one of the internal changes that we have made to (attempt!) to keep our loyal fans satisfied and to bring in new folks into the TROY family. Thank you and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a joyful 2015 to all of you. |

I have been a longtime and outspoken supporter of the Second Amendment. I always choose to do what’s right, even if my stance goes against others opinion. I will not throw this man to the wolves as he has demonstrated throughout his life high integrity and honor. I know most of those who would disagree are using this forum to voice your anger towards the United States Government. In some cases that anger is justified. The Ruby Ridge tragedy and the loss of life there make no bigger example of abuse of power and Government gone wrong. However, I disagree with your personal attacks on my family and company as we are not the Government and we are not training “Jack Booted Thugs”. I am a patriot and I swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of The United States, all of it. Those who have taken that same oath recognize the importance of keeping it. Thank you. -Steve Troy View Quote While Dale may no longer be employed by Troy Industries, you made it clear 16 months ago where Troy Industries stood on the matter. While he may have moved on, or you may have tried to backtrack, and 'throw this man to the wolves', I and many others will keep out oaths, to never purchase Troy produces again. |

An employee that had Troys full support is no longer fully supported, endorsed and employed? Why the change of heart? In the OP, Steve Troy stated that he would not "throw him to the wolves" in regard to Monroe. What has changed? Troy products have spoken for themselves but that is not what this discussion is about. This controversy arose from the leader of the Troy companies speaking for himself and his companies regarding a personnel decision. There are many competitors of Troy that create and market quality products, as consumers we have the freedom to take into account everything about a company when we choose where our dollars are spent. To repeat, what is this "current information"? Perhaps Steve Troy should respond, to try to put an end on this thread that he began. |
