New to our 300 Blackout lineup is our TAC V.2 SBR complete upper. Utilizing the same rail and upper receiver as our TAC V.2 300 upper, we have replaced the 16" barrel with one of our 9.5" 300 barrels. This upper is not meant to be run with a suppressor, we came up with this setup for the average shooter that can not afford a suppressor but still wants to be in on the 300 Blackout club. If I were to replace the flash suppresor with a AAC 51T one would this then work with a suppressor?

The rail sits out to far over the threads of the barrel for the suppressor to mount onto the 51T

That's what they did for me and I put my own rail on when I got it. FWIW, that 9.5" upper is soooooooo much better balanced on my SBR than my other SBR upper (5.56 12.5" with a can), and it shoots nicely, too.

My thread about the upper they sold me here:

They pay for a SBR stamp but don't have the capability to run a suppressor?

Did someone order too many of something? this seems odd?

Core15 doesn't pay for the tax stamp. The customer pays for a tax stamp on their receiver that they either transferred via form 4 (for an already created SBR receiver), or they create their own via a Form 1 using a normal receiver (pistol, rifle, or other). You can have multiple uppers for a given receiver.

I don't really understand your question, I guess... If you're wondering if I can run a can on my 300 Blk SBR, yes I can... after I get a .30 caliber can.

I've 6 stamps, and know the process. "They" as in the individual buying the upper, will have to or already has paid to create a SBR to legally operate the upper. My question is in regard to their TAC V2 9.5" upper, why on earth would you want to intentially assemble one that would never allow you to put a supressor on it? This barrel and rail combination , if I read correctly, will not allow for you to put a suppressor on it because the flash hider is rescessed back into the hand guard. Even more confusing is sticking a AAC 51T flash hider on the end of it when they know that it will not allow you to attach the suppressor because of the length of the hand gaurd. That's a 100$ flash hider. I'm curious what it is in the market that this upper configuration satiffies? I would love to buy one of these for 650 but it needs to be able to accept my AAC SDN 6 can.

ETA: Hey Core, am I missing something?

Wonder if the rail is large enough inside to accommodate a can? A 762-SDN-6 can is only 1 1/2" wide, so depending upon how wide the rail is, maybe it would fit? Guess we'll have to wait on them to answer... From what I can see on the MI site, that rail doesn't look quite wide enough to accommodate a can, though... One of the MI FF rails looks pretty open-ended, but I don't think it's the one they use on the V2 upper... I guess you could just leave the rail off and get one that you know would fit....

BTW, somebody with a pistol receiver could use that upper, too, even though it's listed as an SBR upper. That'd still be fine as long as they didn't put a VFG on it, if I read the law right.

FWIW, you might want to give them a call and see if they can put a carbine-length rail on it for you instead of a mid-length. They were nice to work with when I needed an upper, and I wasn't even spending all that much money with them. ($450)

Good luck.

core15 Suppressor Ready! (AAC 7.62 SD) upper

They allready have what you're looking for. I'm sure they would build exactly what you want if this doesn't work for you.

jj01,

This upper originally came with a non-mount AAC blackout flash hider. Those became very difficult to get a hold of so we used the 51T Blackouts that we already had in stock. There is nothing saying that you can not remove the rail that comes on the upper and replace it with another that has a larger inside diameter to accommodate the suppressor. That being said, the rail on this upper will be changing within the next month. Stay tuned for details. Thanks.
