For the love of God, is there a secret to getting the pin out of the gas block? I just bent up a new steel punch trying to dislodge the pin.

I hate to hear you have had such a hard time removing the gas block taper pin. I’ll be glad to help out! It could be that after use it has warmed up and cooled down so much that it is going to be a little harder to remove.
The gas block taper pin comes out left to right. If the barrel is still assembled to the upper, lay the ejection port cover side down on the table and drive it out in that direction. To get the proper leverage you need, secure the upper by using a clamp in a vice then lay the muzzle end on something sturdy as well.
Have you tried heat? If not, try applying heat then drive it left to right using your punch. If that doesn’t take care of it let me know and we can get this back in house and get it taken care of.
Thanks and let me know how it goes!
