Well, last Thursday I bought a Daniel Defense Lite Rail III 12" for my SPR build and was really looking forward to installing it when I got home.
Unfortunately that was not possible, because to my surprise none of the hardware supplied to me works together. The main issue is the fact that the rail cannot fit over the bolt up plate and the bolts are too large for the threaded holes in the rail.
In addition the allen key provided was entirely too small, although as a mechanic I obviously had the appropriate size. I still find this unsettling though.
I had always heard of Daniel Defenses' quality and at the price point I paid($430) I assumed I would receive a flawless product.
And so I began the process of trying to settle my issue with DD, which has been annoying to say the least. Although I received a speedy reply to my initial email via their "Contact Us" option, I was not offered any help. In fact I was told I would be redirected to their customer service department to be helped, which never happened. So I contacted Daniel Defense two business days later about resolving my issue. I got in touch with the same gentlemen who had been talking to me before and he told me to let him now if they still don't contact me by the end of Monday. I waited until 8pm CST and had no luck with being contacted, so I let the employee helping me via email know. He has since said he will take care of it and make sure I am finally seen to, but that was 13 hours ago and I haven't heard back since. Iwas curious as to everyone's' experiences with Daniel Defense's customer Service over the years and if I really stand a chance of turning this $400 paper weight of a rail into a functioning part of my rifle.
Attached are some images of the product I received.
I was told to repost this here.
