i picked up a 18" CHF S2W in 6.8 and have a quick question:(didnt find anything searching)

i dont want to startup the debate about barrel break-in, but are there any procedures with DD barrels?

being that its CHF and Nitride treated does it require and special break-in or none at all? (ive never had a barrel of this type) before ive always went though the process with other barrels at the manufacturer recommended guidelines........
does DD have anything they suggest or just shoot away.
thanks

I asked this very question a couple of days ago on the DD chat feature re my new 300 upper. They practically laughed at me for asking. They said shoot it and enjoy it.

This isn't a hard rule for all barrels but in regards to ours:

Since the barrels are cold hammer forged, the usual small nicks and burrs (think microscopic) associated with some cut or button rifled barrels simply don't exist. Most of the barrel break in procedures are for eliminating the nicks/burrs. As ours utilize a different manufacturing process its really not necessary. Shoot it and run a boresnake through a few times and all will be well. Thank you for your business. We appreciate it.
