First of all, I don't care if you think triple taps are a waist of money. I wanted to try one so I got one. Second, thank you in advance for any information you my have.
Ok I just got this one from a reputable vender. I have not shot with it on the gun yet, but it looks very green in color. Does anyone else who has one have a green color to theirs? Does anyone see an issue with this? Here is a picture.
Thanks. |

Yeah they're making them green now to raise awareness regarding the environment.

For how much you paid for it it should be made out of gold.

The dark green color is correct. I've seen many like that. The flash on that picture is making it look a lot lighter than it is. Fire it a few times and it will turn a nice charcoal color.

Thank you for the reply, it is a bit lighter in color in the pic, but it is very green. With the amount this thing cost I didn't want to shoot and then find out something was wrong with it, but not be able to return it. If it is fine I will take it out and heat it up. |

They should start parking M1 garands and M1 parts that color... They would make a fortune.
And it looks good, interested to hear how it shoots. |

So far I know of the initial run which was the raw ones, then black ones, some taupe ones, then the current dark green color.

I too have heard that the latest ones are kind of green, but that it will become a darker, less green color when you shoot it (especially with an NT4).

They (KAC) have started to mine inconel from different places, thus the green color.

Me personally I like the second run they did with the black ones. I am really not digging this super green color at all as it doesn't match the barrel color at all. |

It was totally a joke man - inconel isn't mined, it is a super-alloy. I was continuing the smart-ass jokes. I'd be returning that green shit stat! |

It looks like a coating to me. In the pic it looks like some of it has started to wear off on the wrench flats. Doubt it came from KAC like that.

Yes, a little came off on the flats, but it did not burn off with the rounds I put through it yesterday. I will shoot it more today. I am disappointed that it is not black, but I guess I didn't buy it just for its looks. Also so far I am not sure it's any better than my battle comp. |

The green tint is a finish put on it so it's not shiny until it turns the dark gray color from use, as the first run of them had no finish. The coating is on there for function, not appearance, and it doesn't just burn off, it darkens with use. My triple tap was from the first run without any finish and it took quite a few rounds with and without the suppressor for it to darken. As far as performance, it's not going to do anything a battle comp or surefire brake won't. And for the price these are much better choices IMO. But, the triple tap is worth it if you own a NT4 suppressor. Not only is it a very effective muzzle brake which fits the suppressor, it's inconnel construction will ensure it lasts a long time and protects your blast baffle while shooting suppressed. |

Thank you. Yes, I'm sure it will be a nice dark color eventually. Like I said, I wish it was not green, but its not the end of the world. I look forward to giving it a lot more range time soon. Thanks again. |
