Mine was Rocksetted on. I guess it depends on the amount applied to the threads, and each rifle may have a slightly different amount, but I took a 2x4 and cut about 4" off of the end. Then I used a wood boring spade bit to drill a hole slightly smaller than the gas block and opened it up a bit more with a dremel. Finally, I dremeled a section for the top of the gas block to slide into, and then used a saw to cut out a 5-6mm section from the edge of the piece of wood to the "cutout" for the top of the gas block. Put the gas block into the wood "jig" I made and placed that into a vice. The flash hider twisted right off with slow, constant increasing pressure. No damage or misalignment to the gas block was done. From there clean up the threads and apply new Rocksett and muzzle device. In case my half assed explaination of how I made the jig was unclear...see diagram below. KAC makes a gas block jig but I never got a reply on the price so I made my own. Used it when attaching the new muzzle device as well. The homemade "jig" is sort of a one time use deal since most 2x4's are made of soft wood, but it worked for what I needed it to. Redneck engineering on a $5k+ rifle....priceless!
Two beers and one bloody knuckle later...all finished up...
