No, Martin took that picture when I first got my rifle. Notice the factory flash hider still on mine.
We'll do another 762 Heavy squad soon. And also, don't forget about the 762 Heavy classes coming up in November. Costa near Tampa and I think Vickers at VCGHC. Getting in the class was my whole motivation to get the rifle when I did. |

Correct; right before Thanksgiving. |

Have to see what the wife wants to do for our anniversary first before I can commit to either class but, I SERIOUSLY want to take either one..Going to have to do a ton of ass kissing to make that happen.. |

The fact that it has been that way for 13+ years along with all the traveling Basketball team I've been on since the mid 90's, I think I've tested her patience enough at this point..LOL.. |

Well, I shot the mk11 clOne yesterday. It's shoots like a dream. The trigger is amazing, however, there is one problem. The A2 stock is entirely too long and miserable to shoot with. How blasphemous would it be to install a SOPMOD or maybe even an A1 on there?

That was the first thing I looked at, but the price made it unfortunately uncontainable at this time |

Good one...Literally LMAO...I'd be more than happy to play for the Globetrotters if the money was good..I actually had a few opportunities to play semi pro overseas but, couldn't leave my kids. I still play competitively as much as I can though and it keeps me in shape. I also help run/coach youth leagues/camps for the kids and it's really rewarding being able to have a postive effect on a kids life... And to get this thread back on track...

I do recommend the ACS stock over the SOPMOD though, a much better stock for precision shooting in multiple positions. If the KAC kit is out of your range, use a standard carbine tube with a spring and buffer from Slash's heavy buffers- specific for it. |

I'll have to go the cheapest route possible. I'm cash poor. |

I went STR vs the ACS.
Balance is good, but the EC really needs to have the barrel profile modified. Turned to .750 dia or something would shave ~6-8 ounces off the front end, and drastically improve the balance. If I have one complaint about the gun, its that. I'll try to get some pics of it tomorrow with the STR. |

Ditto here..Went with the STR on my EMC..The stock would constantly collapse on me when shooting prone and a rear bag so, that's the only reason I made the swap. |

Neil I'll thank you to shut your whoreish mouth, its a shit ton lot lighter. 6.2 ounces isnearing ahalf a pound and on a already slightly heavy Battle rifle thats a whole lot of weight savings

This thread does not help my urge to buy an ECC.

The ball mill-lightening or dimpling process we do to the ECC and our military guns achieves this very weight reduction on the barrel while still retaining all the benefits of a heavy barrel for accuracy and heat dispersion. |

As jboy has stated, the problem with using the SOPMOD is when shooting prone you can collapse the stock with your support hand - especially when loading your bipod and using a rear bag. At the end of the day, it's a matter of personal preference, say ACS vs. STR vs. something else, but any of these stock would be better suited than the SOPMOD for precision work. Here's a pic of my 20" with ACS. ![]() |
