I got in on the discussion regarding magazines back in October and ended up ordering a few of the Moses magazines for my LAR-8 Varmint.
The magazines are of high quality and compare favorably to MAGPUL magazines (which seem to be the ones that everyone compares to these days). I didn't run over them with my suburban, but the Moses Magazines look like they will hold up just fine to any abuse that I can give them.
When I first got them, the magazines would not drop free from the magazine well. A little bit of sanding of the spacing and catch tabs on the back of the magazine and just a slight amount of sanding on the front of the magazine and the magazine dropped free. My rifle is an early model and thus may have a tighter magazine well then the current batch of LAR-8's. I've noticed that RRA's admits to some changes in this area throughout the production history. In fact their standard polymer magazine comes with instructions on how to file the spacing tabs for drop free function.
I've had the magazines since the beginning of November and have taken them out with me, several times a month for the last 5 months, and am happy to report that they have functioned fine. No issues at all.
I've noticed that RRA's has added the Moses Mag to their website also, which is a good thing! We need more options for this great rifle. Especially since quality metal magazines have been drying up.
