Hello AR15.com,
The LAR-PDS Pistol is one of the most disappointing experiences I've had with any vendor.
I purchased a LAR-PDS pistol a few years ago now. I was very excited about the platform, and I knew going into it that it wasn't yet "suppressor safe" but that one was being promised "soon".
I've traded emails with the company several times, I've even legally SBR-ed it believing in the repeated statements that "soon" a suppressor-safe mod would be available. Still nada.
Then they released a .300BLK version of the upper! Big excitement! Of course that would support a suppressor because, without a suppressor, what would be the point? My SBR paperwork even has the .300 as an alternate caliber for this because I knew that the moment the .300BLK upper came out I'd be ordering one.
But... still the .300BLK version has the defective gas system. I'm not sure "!!!" adequately describes the level of disappointment that I know most of you share with me on this. I'm not at all sure who'd want .300BLK in a 9" barrel that can't be suppressed.
Come on RRA, your customers are all but "begging" you to make this platform viable. I'm sure that the low sales aren't making this platform a priority for development dollars, but the low sales are a direct result of this valve/regulator not really being fit for purpose. I want to sing your praises! But every single person who's seen it, after saying "that's awesome", the first question they ask is "how's it run with a suppressor"... and that answer makes it suddenly a giant waste of money.
And, currently, it is. :-(
I can't even really sell it without it being a huge PITA now that it's SBRed.
Please, please fix it!
