I don't have the standard, I have a mid length A4 that I have owned for about a decade. Since no one else has answered, yet, I thought I'd chime in with my 2¢.
In all, the LAR-8 is a high quality "service" or battle rifle that is as at least as reliable but more accurate than mil-spec. It's accurate with a surprisingly nice trigger, if that's what you're after. The trigger is "match" quality, as are the bolt and barrel. I am able to get 3/4moa when I do my part and use decent ammo. For me, personally, my chief complaint might be that it was over-gassed. As a service rifle, being over gassed is almost a necessity for guaranteed reliability across a wide range of conditions, and I've noticed the same thing with other "battle" rifles. For a reloader, though, it damaged my brass when the bolt was unlocking too early (extractor and ejector scrapes on the rim and casings). I was able to tune the timing by adding weight to the system, but that first range trip just about put me into a rage after I saw my brass.....
Since you mentioned High Power, the LAR-8 remains competitive within the 3.1 Service Rifle and any of the 3.3 classes, because the constrictions of those classes.
