No questions asked. they sent me a check for $1300 to replace the gun, mag and all the ammo I hadn't shot yet. I ordered my RRA tactical operator2 today. They say it wil be here in 30 days. Can't wait. If i knew how to post pics I would. That is pretty much what happened. Looking through the magwell, the bolt looked like a peeled banana. My P-Mag blew out the bottom and scattered rounds everywhere. About 10 minutes later one of the other guys shooting with us had his Bushmaster blow out also. It blew the bottom plate out of his USGI mag and sides out almost to a circle. We thought things would be smoother with two rifles destroyed, but unfortunately have got some run around and slow response. The first direct contact I had was two months after the fact and that was when they called to tell me they had ordered me a Bushmaster Patrolman and it was in and ready for me to drive 80 miles to pick it up. I told them I never agreed to take that as a replacement and they swore my Lt. had said I would. Took them a few more weeks to get the order in. I wish I could say the same thing about them taking care of me without any problems. That is why I took 3 months to even put out anything about the incident to the public. Then the rep told the other gun owner that this was not the first time they had something like this happen. I can't wait to get my gun in so I can go play and get this headache behind me. ––-One thing I had noticed with the ammo as I loaded it was a couple of the rounds had primers that looked different. I don't know if that was the cause, but something to look out for. It concerned me when I first saw it, but trusted the brand and it came from a sealed case and box. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_O-8cf7D-r-4/TVYxtd5ZUWI/AAAAAAAAALQ/JXiY8p3v9io/s640/20101112101419.jpg Has all been taken care of and accounted for by Remington yet? Do you recall what appeared "different" about the primers? |

So here it is, Its a RRA Elite Comp. Picked it up the 9th of July and took it to the range on the 10th. Shot about 100 rounds with it. Got the Iron sights pretty good and still working on the scope. Its a cheap scope but pretty clear. The rifle ran flawlessly using the bulk walmart 223 55gr stuff from Federal. (Saving brass and will be relaoding). I have some Superformance Hornady in 53gr that I will run through it in a couple of weeks. This rifle was worth the wait. A bit under 90 days and again flawless. If I had to critique anything, it would be the handguard. Its comfy but the front end is a bit heavy. Thats it!

"The fullsize A2 with a 20 inch barrel is the end of a long historical line of weaponry where the shooter was a real rifleman and not just some guy popping off rounds at 25 yards while looking through a magic looking glass." - JBnTX

Just got the new Leupold VX-R 2-7x33 installed as well as the YHM railed handguard on my 16" PP. A JP low profile adjustable gas block is mounted under the handguard. There is also and Endine AR-Restor replacing the standard buffer.
The down side is that it is not light. Shot like a dream before the changes so I expect even better things now. http://www.imas.co.nz/forum/download/file.php?id=542&mode=view/RRA |

Really PO your "gun guy" friends and don't build them at all...just use them around the house as paper weights, door stops, pencil holders, etc...

If IA legalizes SBRs, I'm all over a PDS SBR (it isn't enough that I have one in my office for demos, etc...I need one for my self). I already have th econfiguration (and unfortunately the cost) all figured out.
