Hi.
My name is Steve. I am the Production Controller at RRA and I will be the primary moderator on this forum. The purpose of this forum is to provide general information, answer specific product questions, advise of new products, and let you know what we're up to on an occasional basis. If you have questions about orders, order fulfillment, pricing, or similiar information, please call our Sales Department at 309-792-5780 or email them at [email protected]. I'm not the greatest techno-computer guy, and have never moderated a forum before, so bear with me while I try to figure out how to post photos, make live links, etc...Thanks. |

PK90,
Thanks for asking. We hope to be in production by the end of the year. Right now we're looking at CAR length as our initial offering, but time will tell if mid is something to get into, or even practical. The version shown is just a rendition of what might be coming. We'll have them available with both flash hiders and brakes...and a brake could certainly be pinned and welded if rerquired. Steve/RRA Moderator |

Welcome Steve and RRA.
I have the original AR-15 M4gery from 3 years ago. Love the rifle, its my first and only AR-15. I am planning on getting a 20" A4 style sometime in the next 6 months or less. I'd like to make it as much like issue as I can. When do you folks plan to offer something like that? Specificially Chrome lined 20" barrels? Government profile barrels? thanks Frank |

There are currently no plans to do a government-profile 20" chrome-lined barrel, but that's not to say that there isn't hope. We've responded to customer requests by releasing new products previously, with mixed results. The stainless R4 barrel was one that didn't do too well, while the Dominator mount has been very successful.
I'm waiting a while before I start one of those "What would you like to see us make?" threads, but I am very interested ,as both an avid AR owner/shooter and in my "official" capacity with RRA. Steve/RRAMODERATOR |

What's the possibility of, at very least, a chrome-lined 20" HBAR?

Welcome Steve.
I talked with a Steve (on the phone at RRA) about a year or so ago and was impressed with his product knowledge. He took time to answer my questions about their products. There was not one question he had to "get back to me on". There was not one question he could not answer about their products first hand. Not only did he know his products, but seemed to be an experienced shooter. I am glad to see you on the board Steve. I have a Mid-length RRA chrome lined carbine I really enjoy. Keep up the good work. Thanks and God bless, Stephen banks308 |

Welcome glad to see my favorite rifle company here. I do have a question foer you what brand is the four rail freefloat that you sell. Your shotgun news ad seems to have a surefire two piece under the free float section in your add. I am looking for a free float handguard that has a rail extending over the delta ring area just on the top if it is a correct pic. Thanks in advance. By the way own an A2 20in and a middie carbine from you guys flawless.

Welcome, Steve.
Glad to see that RRA finally made it to this site. My second AR was a M4 that I put together with all RRA parts. Bought the stripped upper and lower, bolt and carrier, etc from y'all. It's a great rifle and shoots well. RRA will be a great asset to ar15.com |

I'm a multi RRA owner too, among other brands. I've always liked what I've gotten from you guys. I would also like to see Gov't profile and more chrome lined options. Also 1:7 barrels would be nice.

I am looking for a RRA 16-inch R-4 Barreled Upper chrome-lined in 6.8mm SPC.
As a RRA owner, thank you
and Welcome! |
CPTRFWRIGHT,
No such beast exists. While we have discussed 6.8SPC, we are not currently building rifles, uppers, or barrels in that caliber, and won't as long as ammo availability is an issue. While there is ammo trickling into the market, it isn't even enough to support test firing, let alone end-user demand. Once ammo readily available, we will certainly have further discussions of the 6.8SPC. Thanks. Steve/RRA |

After much research, I like what I see and hear about RRA. It’s also nice having the organization on the board to field questions and this service is much appreciated.
Steve, does RRA have a relationship with Cabelas? I have some gift cards that I would like to apply to a RRA AR15 and am curious about how the process works as far as ordering a new gun and having it sent to an FFL dealer. Maybe these are question I need to ask my local retailer. Can you shed any light on the topic? In your experience, do retailers charge for special orders? Thanks again! |
Tepin,
No relationship per se with Cabellas, but as a dealer direct manufacturer, we sell directly to thousands of FFL holders around the country. I know some of the chain sporting goods stores don't like to carry/transfer/order black rifles, but I believe that Cabellas will. My experience have generally been that local dealers will charge something for the use of their FFL, but those charges vary widely. In my local are it is anywhere from $30 to 10% of whatever is coming in. RRA's policy is that the dealer actually has to make the order...which guarantees that he knows that there is a rifle coming to him, who it is for, he has consented to the transaction, etc...and his transaction with his customer stays between them. You would be well advised to talk to your local dealers, whether the small shop down the street or the big sporting goods place at the mall to determine what their policies and charges are, if they will order for you, etc... Thanks. Steve/RRA |
Steve – Thanks for the information.
I just read on a WEB site that RRA uses the Wylde chamber specs for their .223 rifles. Is this true? If so, does this impact the use of either .223 Remington or the “hotter” 5.56 NATO rounds? Thanks. |
Tepin,
The Wylde chamber is standard in our 20" heavy barrels and all of our varmints. It will chamber both 223 Remington and 5.56 NATO just fine. Steve/RRA |

I bought my first AR-15 from RRA last December. I got the Elite CAR A4 with the quad rail. This is one fine gun. I am looking forward to purchasing others from you guys. Keep the great quality and service up and you have a buyer for life. Bye the way....WELCOME!

Cataclysm,
Glad to hear that you like your RRA rifle. Corbon has, and has had, .458 ammo on the shelf and available for sale for a couple of years. That was one of the major draws of that particular cartridge. They've even expanded their offerings to three different loads. As for the 6.8, I'm actually one of its bigger proponents here. I've already got an upper (personally, not the company) and our head armorer and I have been playing with test loads for it using brass and other components that we've been lucky enough to scrounge together. Even if (should I say when?) the military doesn't pick up 6.8 in any kind of significant quantities, I still think it has tremendous potential for both law enforcement and sportsmen. That would be the market that we would be looking at. Steve/RRA |
I have only heard of the Cor-Bon stuff. I have searched high and low, even their website, not even mention about it on there. When I ask people at most shops about it they give me the confused cocked puppy head look. I'm pretty damn sure I have seen The 6.8 stuff at sportsmans whorehouse. I'm going back to check. If I see it, its all mine.
