I just got a new Wilson Combat SS lightweight 1:7 16" barrel and was wondering if I have to do a proper break-in on these barrels.
Never had a SS barrel so I'm not sure.

Thanks.

Caution: use no abrasives whatsoever!

Shoot 10 rounds, allow the barrel to cool, swab the barrel with TM Solution.

Shoot another 30 rounds, repeat the above.

Shoot 100 rds, repeat the above. that's it!

That's the method I use for Satern SS Barrels.

You're welcome, I forgot to add:

1 swab with TM, then follow up with a dry swab.

Don't shoot the barrel with TM in it..
It really goes without saying, but I'm
just making sure.

Enjoy your new barrel!

Yeah I'm used to do the proper break-in on new moly barrels, but never had an SS one, so wasn't sure.
I actually break them in even slower than you recommended, but did it your way. MUCH faster than the way I usually do it (1shot and clean three times, 3 shots then clean, 5shots then clean,
10 then clean and 30 then clean.)

Break in is a myth and waste of time. Shoot it.
