Did the formula for aluma hyde get a change in the past few years? I have a can of coyote from about 5 years ago & that stuff was a dead ringer for magpul's FDE. It had the right amount of brown & green. I just tried the new magpul FDE AH & its not even close. Grabbed a can of the coyote & same deal, closer.... but still not even close to what it used to be.
It dries much, much quicker though. Did you add some sort of quick drying agent to help cut down the drying times, but makes it bleach out to a grayish color? Thats what both the magpul FDE & coyote AH seem to do now, they have a muted, overall gray tinge to them. Its really odd. The old stuff literally took around a month to set up, this new stuff is practically done within 24 hours. But the color.... it just isn't the same...
Not trying to come off as complaining, just trying to figure out what the cause is. The old stuff was practically perfect for FDE & the new just isnt there, its a damn shame.
