Ordered twice during the free shipping promo Thursday 11/5/15
2 orders shipped Friday evening via UPS Innovations Neither tracking number shows up at UPS or USPS UPS send me an email whenever they get something coming my way USPS tracking will be down Sunday 8PM to Monday 2AM for maintenance. It never works well after they fix stuff. So how do I track this package shipped UPS Innovative Way Of Shipping ? I will update this thread as updates become available to me Thanks |

I just got off the phone with "Jessica", she was polite and told me my order left on Friday and it takes 24 to 48 hours to update tracking.
It would be nice to know when to expect a package other than 4-7 BD so I can arrange someone to check my mail for me while I'm away from the ranch. When does the 4-7 BD start? At the time of the order? When I get the email saying it shipped? Or when UPS says they have it? Thanks |

UPS just stated they haven't received the tracking number, yet when I click on it in the email it takes me to UPS site, where it says not available
UPS also said as far as they now a label may have been created but probably hasn't shipped yet. They said to contact the shipper, so back on the phone until someone figures out what's going on. |

Contacted the shipper, which is Brownells and was told package left on Friday and wait until Tuesday for tracking

I am in the same boat now. wont do this again and I got into a chat and was told to pay for better shipping. order sitting unknown since the 5th
and not moved. I was going to join that edge shipping but at this rate they should pay me to wait on the shipping. |

This is how Amazon works, also. They use the SAME shipping speed for ALL orders... they just sit on orders that are not paying the higher ship rate. So it's not really "shipping speed" your paying for (with the type of vendors that play this game), it's the "delivery date".
Example: it used to be that if you knew the shipping distance was short, you could get the package quick anyway with cheaper shipping (since the speed is not as important with the short distance). Companies don't play this way anymore. They use a universal "speed" and control (AKA: sit on) the ship date to control your delivery date. Think of it this way, they will sit on it until about 3 days prior to your "delivery speed" choice. I don't agree with it... but that's the way it is. |

Another disappointed Brownell's customer. My order was supposed to be delivered by UPS Innovations on Friday and hasn't been delivered even today.
I understand that things can get hung up BUT then don't give me such an optimistic delivery date. I have previously ordered things from Brownell's on a Tuesday and had the shipment on my doorstep on Thursday with just the base shipping option. If you're going to miss your delivery date by such a wide margin then either automatically refund the shipping charge or stop using this service. And "yes" Brownell's, this is YOUR problem. You do not get to wash your hands of shipping issues just because the items have left your building, and I'm a bit surprised and disappointed you would even think that was the case! |

It seems like something has changed at Brownell's - shipping differences (4-7 days to southern MN for orders that used to take 1) and coupon differences (seems like they used to forget them and would be active for months and now they're rare gems). Minor things but if mgmt had a brainstorm - tell them old Coke was the best.
Just like the above, I'm still a big fan of Brownell's and always check there first. |

Shipping was a breeze. No Mail Innovations, no Smart Post, no Sure Post. It was USPS or UPS. Not one handing off to the other. Time from order-if in stock-to arrival was predictable for me. 3 days after order I had the part. Then came the internet age and Mail Innovations, Smart Post and Sure Post. Delivery times soared from 3 days to 6-7 days. Shipping options disappeared. Lightweight shipping for small parts, gone. Now I'm a Edge member, solely on the fact that I order a lot of small stuff and over the course of a year, I would have paid 5 times in shipping for what I paid for in the Edge program. Shipping times still suck. I love Brownell's. I dearly do. I could spend tens of thousands of dollars there a year. In fact, I bet I have spend nearly $20,000 at Brownell's since 1993, when I started ordering stuff from them. But it's time for Brownell's to sit down and honestly re-evaluate using Mail Innovations, Smart and Sure post. Priority Mail-for me-is faster and more reliable than the those 3. Come'on Brownell's, listen to your loyal customers. |

Wish I read this thread a week ago. UPS says my package was delivered to post office. Post office says they have no record of receiving it. Both tell me there is nothing they can do and that I should call the shipper. Email sent tonight to Brownells. I'm looking forward to a response. Better yet I'm hoping the package shows up in a few days as well. Im not feeling good about this though.

My last two orders from Brownell's arrived the week after the estimated arrival date at checkout. Both times the hang up was with Brownell's, not UPS or USPS. And this is paying rates equal or higher to 2-day Priority shipping. Every other order has been slow, too. I try to plan on Brownell's estimated dates being irrelevant and don't order parts I need in a hurry from them.
Great inventory, good prices, and excellent guarantee are being undermined by consistently terrible shipping policies that Brownell's seems unable to address after so long. Every other source I use has shipping (and reasonable shipping options/prices to size/weight) down pat. This is a Brownell's problem, not a UPS/USPS problem. They've made a decision to use the crappiest post services available, and sit on orders to boot. It's too bad. ETA: Doesn't mean I don't like or use Brownell's. I will continue to be a customer. I just plan on waiting longer and don't order stuff I need in a hurry unless I'm willing to pay through the nose for what USPS Priority could do for a fraction of the price. |

I use to order from Brownells back when shipping did not involve UPS innovations or surepost. I was about to order 1 ar15 field repair kit (consisting of mostly small springs) and the only shipping option i was given was this, Lowest Cost Estimated Shipping: 3-5 Business Days UPS Ground - $15.95 on a $28 order. Not ok. Found items elsewhere for $5.95 USPS Priority shipping. I now order all my parts and accessories through companies that offer flat rate or free USPS Priority shipping. In a day and age when most people are buying products online you would think a company as big as Brownells would offer better shipping options like their smaller competitors on the net.

View Quote It appears the order that one shipped by Sure Post because it was over 1 lb, it would have went innovations if it was less than 1 lb. The other order was shipped ground because it shows you paid for the UPS Upgrade. This is, of course assuming that we have the correct order located in this case since no order number was provided. We have had a lot of both positive and negative feedback on Sure Post & Mail Innovations and are making adjustments to our model. Thank you for your feedback. |

I was super excited with starting my edge subscription and getting FREE SHIPPING on all orders. I did not know that shipping would be Smartpost, UPS Innovations or Surepost. Must of missed some fine print. I'm only 3 and half hours away from your place of business and I have seen an escalation/inconsistency of shipping times. The most trouble I've had is UPS Innovations though. Missing delivery windows regularly, and taking forever for USPS induction to actually occur to make good on the UPS's "estimated delivery" day. Me and my girlfriend were saying we'd pay twice the fee for a priority free shipping option. The UPS/Fedex/USPS is very consistent for us, but these partnership programs are just the bane of many peoples' existences. So I hope it improves. I'm just giving you guys some constructive feedback. Brownell's and the Mail Innovations has just about killed me as a customer.
Ordered a charging handle on the 4th. When I checked out the shipping said delivery on the 7th. Today is the 7th and no handle. Why you ask? Because of Mail Innovations. UPS sent it to Cincinnati where it sat, until today. Now it will not get here until Tuesday. TUESDAY. I could have driven to Cincy and back in less than 5 hours, but it's going to take until Tuesday to get it. I should have known. I should have paid for the upgrade. But nope, I trusted it and that's on me. Going with the lowest cost shipping option, that's on you Brownell's. You say -"We hear you!" yet you don't LISTEN. You say you are looking at changes, yet nothing changes. Ditch it, ditch all of the low cost, slow shipping. This is getting ridiculous. We are making changes and looking to roll things out soon. There are a lot of variables internally we have to address, from technology to processes to make large changes...which is taking longer than we (and all of you) prefer. Mail innovations is a POS black hole. The UPS USPS handoff has lost so many packages and had things lots for days multiple times. Call UPS with tracking number it says delivered to USPS. USPS says they never got it. Shipping company says they have 13 days to deliver it. Ok but it usually only takes 5 to get here and they admit they don't have it. Huge black eye for a great name like Brownells and every company that uses it.
I usually pay to avoid it but there are those times like this company where you use the default shipping because you're sure they wouldn't dare use suck a piece of crap and then it's too late. I think using MI should come with a double click to confirm and warning may take 2 weeks to ship and get there. |

This is awesome....now Brownell's has decided that they would use FedEx Smart Post for my latest order.
Congrats Brownell's-You manged to pick a shipping option that is worst-yep it's possible-than the Mail Innovations. Package gets to CHAMPAIGN, IL on Friday where it proceeds to sit until today. Delivery is supposed to be Sat, the 5th. I could have driven to Brownell's and back in less time. You are going backwards. Ditch FedEx. They are the short bus of shipping companies. Either Priority Mail or UPS. Not one handing off to the other. Is it really that hard for the bean counters to understand? |
