I wanted to follow up on the issues that I had with my initial BDM Colt Conversion Magazine. After finally getting around to mailing my mag in, BDM promptly sent me a replacement which I had the opportunity to shoot for the first time on Friday. Initially, I was a little disturbed because I was having failures- though nowhere near as many (or the tseverity) that I was having with the first mag. Looking at the malfunctions, I noticed that a slight lip adjustment was needed- which I completed. I have it working about 95% now- the occasional random failurewith a slightly higher likliehood on the 2d to last round. I could probably correct that, but I'm not sure if I will since it is working well enough right now. I did notice that it is very ammo sensative, unlike the factory Colt and DPMS mags. I would probably need to change the adjustment if I wanted to change the load. Bullet profile, etc.... seems to make a difference- but after hand adjustments were made, I guess that makes sense. I'm definetely satisfied now

Sorry to hear that there are still problems with the Gen III Colt Mag.
I'm using the ones for the Atchesson Bolt and they work perfect. I did a little tweaking initially and they've been fine ever since. Good Luck, Dave S |

Once you get into hand adjustments, thee is going to be a period of getting it perfect. In time, I might get there. If not, it'll be fun to rip some extra rounds off...It is a little different and I respect that. If I really were concerned, I would probably buy one of Atchesson based units and some BDM hi-caps. A lot of people at our club use them successfully. I would have no problem buying more BDM products in the future. In fact, I probably will. |

BDM has always led the pack with their products. I use many different Atchesson Conversions and
a variety of mags. BDM's Billet Mag for those kits are the best Magazines ever made for them.... The X-Form Mag isn't far behind...... Good Luck with your Colt. They're all Fun too shoot.... Dave S |

Anyone else have any input on the GenIII Colt conversion BDSM mags? I finally saw they were available (hadn't checked in a while) and am planning on getting some.
What feed lip adjustment are you doing? How is the fit into various magwells, esp. LMT? Any other tips y'all can offer? |
