Just a few of us keeping this thread alive. I'm sure though, many are anticipating the release. Back on the the first page, May of 2016 was the time frame. Running out of days. :)

I'd also like to know. Been putting off firearm projects, waiting for this one. That way I have enough $$$ to snag one as they come out of the gate.

Shameless tag. Looking for something FFP in this power range without the $1000 price tag

Looks like they're in stock or are we talking about a lower cost model? I'm confused.

Any info on the eye relief for the 6-24x50, if it will be NV capable, what grain and barrel length the drops were calculated with? It currently does not specify on the PA website...

When? When? When? I've been putting off on getting one for my RPR for this. The suspense is killing me.

Thank you for taking the time not to put a Note 7 out there!

Just got some info. Samples with upgraded adhesives are going through testing now.

Thank you for the update.
Do you think it will be ready by Christmas? |

Hope y'all are making a ton of these....I have a feeling they are going to be popular.

FYI for those watching this was update to late February 2017 release on website.

What's the muzzle velocity and bullet that this was designed around?
Any time frame for other reticles? Would like to put this on a bolt .260 remington or 6.5 creedmoor. |

Do you guys have any idea what the warranty will be on this? I saw the new 1-8x (not the platinum version) had a limited lifetime warranty. I'm looking for a high-powered scope, and I've narrowed it down to this or a Vortex. If this has the same limited lifetime warranty, that would make my decision for me
|
|
I ended up emailing customer service (because I'm not the most patient fellow) and they confirmed that it will come with a limited lifetime warranty. Which leads to another question:
WHEN CAN I BUY IT??!? Any hints? |
|
I can hint that production samples are in the testing process right now, which is a good sign.
|
|
Not to beat a dead horse, but are they in QC, or are they still in testing for future production? Any time estimate until they are ready for sale to the public?? (knowing that it's subject to change)
Thanks! |
|
QC is one thing, that's a process we do here in Houston where we inspect each optic for flaws. We don't spot-check, every scope goes through the entire process and there's a whole team that does nothing but inspect optics all day every day, checking turrets, reticle illumination, parallax adjust, ocular adjust, there's a whole checklist they go through before the scope is moved into inventory ready to sell. I don't honestly know where the 6-24x50 scopes are in that process.
What I meant was, a batch of production scopes, as opposed to prototypes, are in the hands of Dimitri Mikroulis, the reticle designer, who does our long term torture testing before the product is released to the public. This is a long and arduous process and I can't tell you the details except it involves freezing the scopes in a block of ice, lowering the ice block / scope into a live volcano to melt it, sending the scope to SpaceX to be sent to the Space Station and checked for function in zero gravity (they knock you on YouTube if you skip this step), and finally, reading the entrails of a freshly sacrificed anteater to determine the best warranty period. I may have made some of that up. Seriously though, Dimitri has to test them thoroughly because it only takes one run of crummy products to really hurt a name brand that we've spent years building up and supporting. I know it's frustrating to wait for a product you really want and we would love to have them ready to sell today, but we have to make sure that everything with our name on it makes our brand better and not worse. It's hilarious to me that we get a bunch of emails every day from people asking to send us this scope or that scope for them to "test and evaluate"... why would we be selling these scopes if we hadn't already tested and evaluated them thoroughly? Our customers aren't going to be the ones that figure out if our BDC really works, or if our parallax adjust really lines up with the markings. We know for sure before we ever put them live on our website, and that's why our customers buy from us instead of some fly-by-night Ebay virtual store. The process means a longer wait than anyone likes, but it's the right way, the only way, we'll do business. Sorry for the long winded response, I'm feeling my oats this morning. We've decided not to give estimated lead times at all for this product, so we don't disappoint anyone with "but, two months ago they said two months!" type stuff. When I hear they are coming into stock soon, this thread will be the first place to know. Promise. |
|
Outstanding feedback, I really, really appreciate it. Your customer service, prices and customer interaction here are all reasons why I continue to buy and support Primary Arms (and recommend your scopes to others).
This will be my 6th Primary Arms optic, as soon as it's released! Unless I buy another PA optic in the mean time |
|
I have nothing but time. I have a Athlon midas keeping me happy for the moment. I honestly won't buy the first production runs. I'm just that way I won't buy a new design change vehicle either. Get it out let's some of these civi pipe singers get their dick beaters on them for a bit and hopefully I can slide in and buy an RGRID.

Looks like the scope has been pulled from the site....is it still in the works and just several months (or more) out, or have plans changed?

The Primary Arms 6-24x50 scope will not come to market in the form that we anticipated when we showed the product last year. We experiment with a lot of prototype scopes and concepts. For each new optic we release there is a graveyard filled with ideas and attempts that didn’t make the cut. The 6-24x came so close that we were certain it would be a production optic for us. In the final testing of this scope we found that durability didn’t meet our standards when put on large magnum caliber rifles. Rather than risk selling a scope that wouldn’t last in the long term on heavy recoiling rifles like .300WM or 7mm Magnum, we went back to the drawing board.
