Sad why only a 5 year warranty if I am paying premium price I expect premium coverage one of the reason I am a big fan of my vortex stuff is not only the quality but the warranty. Don't get me wrong I am still very excited about this optic choice. I would be getting the MIL version personally any planed demo places for it something I def want to check out in person before just dropping that kinda of money on a optic also. View Quote Nothing new here. Same discussion about our red dots vs theirs has gone on for years. We are proud to be a factory direct authorized Vortex dealer. Choice is always a good thing. Comparable scopes to these sell for considerable more. Most over $2K and not all have a lifetime warranty. |

On the new 1-8x scopes...
I see the turrets are exposed, do they lock? |

It would look like the 8x look in all settings. I designed it specificly for FFP |

Wouldn't bother me, I like options. I'd like a 1-6x option like my swfa tactical 1-4x (not hd). Not everybody wants to shoot m855 or other common loads. Being able to dial in then find your own dope is a preference to some.

Mil reticle and adjustments are universal, barrel length, load, caliber etc can all be taken care of with an app on a phone or printed off. |

View Quote I chose the MIl version because I will be using this on a precision type semi auto and I think in Mills and I will be shooting different loads. If you plan on shooting one type of ammo most of the time and like the features of a bullet drop compensator then Dimitri's reticle is the best of the breed. |

Mine came in today. Super clear glass. I will get it mounted up tomorrow and will start shooting.

Product Review: Primary Arms Platinum Series 1-8x Mil Scope FFP Part 1 of a 2 part View Quote Thank you so much. Time to start saving my pennies. ETA: Have you shot or fondled the Bushnell? With the LEO/MIL discount it's close in price and I'm still considering it. Sidenote: What level is that? Do you like it? |
|
I have played with the 1-6 Bushnell and the reticle was not daylight bright so I did not care for it. Did not know they had a 1-8. That is a US optics level.
