This is why I had to get one while they are in stock. Now all I have to do is wait to get home on R&R. Looking forward to another great product.

got my hands on mine today… Wow. Beefy. Looks great… but at 4x, there's a black defined dot, on the centerline, above the circle where 800 yards would be upwards. The dot gets fuzzy at 5x and is completely gone at 6x and above. It's so centered I think it's a deliberate feature. What is its purpose? I can't take a picture with my potato, so here is a 'shop of the recticle from the PA site: View Quote Airman, I just got home and checked my scope (hooray!) and mine had no such visible dot. The reticle is crisp and clear from 4x to 14x. |

You can try one thing. It is probably a microscopic spec that is getting magnified. All scope mrg put a layer of heavy greese on the inside to catch it. Wack it against the palm of you had or a phone book and it should drop off. Before I catch hell for saying this is is common practice at all price points. We have had two Schmidts, as in $3K scopes, with hairs that had to be knocked off. If that does not do it shoot me a email and I will get the exchange going ASAP totally at our expense. |

Got my 2 scopes today! One is going on an AR using the 75 gr Hornady BTHP, the other on a 300 win mag to see if that is an option. If that does not work, I will try it on my PTR-91. Love the reticle on these scopes. Definitely notice less tunneling at 4 power when compared to the 4-14 mil dot model. I did run into an issue with an American Defense AD-RECON-SW-20-MOA 30mm mount though. The spacing for the rings on the scope is too short due to the illumination module on these ACSS scope. I will need to find another mount with shorter ring spacing to accommodate this issue. Just a heads up to everyone , you have about 5 inches from illumination module to the start of the flaring of the objective bell to work with. This version of the AD-RECON mount is around an 1/8' too long for this scope. I also noticed one scope's illumination knob is significantly stiffer than the other. I'm hoping it gets better as its used (broken in). It can be adjusted fine, but you really need to hang on to turn it. I'm pretty excited to get one up and running on the AR to see what it can do! Overall I feel it was a pretty solid purchase for the features you get at the price point!

I realize the 300 win mag is too fast, I would be running more of a dope set up on it to use it. I'm more interested in the ranging benefit of the reticle for that gun. I will probably end up either using the mils embedded in the reticle or slap a cheat sheet in the flip cap or tape it to the stock as to where it will hit in respect to what number in the reticle. If I don't like it on that rifle, it will go on to a PTR-91 that is a .308. The variety of ranging options from the 36" posts running laterally, the 18" widths running vertically, or the 10" circles to me seems to have great applications for quick ranging some big game with my 300 win mag.

Zeroing help/info please.
I'm using M80 at 2650fps from a 18inch barrel. My mount is the PA mount that puts my scope 2.7 inches from center of barrel to center of scope. I would like your advise on zeroing so I can get the most out of my optic at mostly 0-1000ft altitude. Thank you. Greg |

Thank you for your reply.
I have read your charts, and I have Googled M80 velocity and can not find any velocity "standards" to use. While my velocity seems to match similarly with others posted data with an 18 inch barrel, I can not find anywhere where people were getting 2790 out of M80 so I was wondering what velocities 16 and 20 inch barrels were based on so I could try to see where I should start and how far out I could expect the BDC to be accurate. I guess I just did not phrase my question as clear as I thought I did. I really like your design, I think it is very well thought out and usable. I just want to make sure it is usable for me. Thank you for your time. Greg Quoted:

I know a lot of you guys are mounting this scope on ARs, but I am seriously considering this for a budget precision bolt action rifle.
Good thing my rifle build is a long ways away so when I get everything hopefully you guys will have a full inventory. Does anyone know what barrel length PA used for the .308 loads in the OP. Id like to get an idea how my 20" will fair as I don't have a chronograph. Thanks |

Excellent and do you have a chart for M80 ball, and am I reading it right? 175 SMK uses a 50 & 100 yard zero?
ETA: I need a chronograph. |

Is there an ETA when in November the 4-14x will hit our shore?
I decided to wait for this one vs. buying the 1-6x. A flip of a coin made the decision for me. The 4-14x will be better suited on the Remington 700 me thinks any way. |

Hi dimitri, I know you said the 5.56 loads would not match up well but I am trying to figure out if I should "pull the trigger" on this thing when it comes in stock. I will be shooting mostly 5.56 ss109 62gr(cheapest around 10$ for 30 rounds) out of an 18" wylde chamber at around 3000fps. Would the reticle be rendered useless since im not shooting .308 or the .223 you posted in the chart? I'm still trying to figure out if I should get the 4-14xacss or the mil dot or even jumping down to the 1-6 acss. Basically I'm sold on the 14xFFP acss except for how I'm unsure about the reticle being compatable with various 5.56/.223 loads.
Sorry if this all sounds ridiculous. I'm kinda flustered because I finally found what seemed to be the perfect scope (FFP, sweet lookin reticle, GREAT price, and magnification range) and it kills me to think it may not work all that well on my rifle. |
