I'm going to go ahead and order the original FFP. This is going on a Savage action with a 20 moa base. Do you think I can get by with low rings, or will I need medium? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

NOOO!!! Just finished a build, and was just getting ready to order the original 4-14x44 FFP. Now what to do?? Order the original FFP, or wait this out? This is going on a .308 bolt gun. Any thoughts on one or the other? The 4-14 standard is a good scope. The ACSS version will come out in 2-3 months. Dimitri I'm going to go ahead and order the original FFP. This is going on a Savage action with a 20 moa base. Do you think I can get by with low rings, or will I need medium? Hm I don't know try with what you got and if it don't work then look to spend your money on taller rings. Dimitri |

DANG IT! And i just bought the 4-14FFP. I love it....BUT would have waited for the ACSS if i had seen this thread.

I used the PA 4-14 FFR scope on a Savage 10P .308 this weekend in a Precision Rifle class at Asymmetric Solutions. We shot out to 700 yards and the PA scope did just as well as any other scope in the class, including an IOR Valdada FFP scopes that cost much more. Marshal has a good product in this scope.

I know this scope is more for .308 rifles... but how well would it work with an 18'' firing m193, m855, or 77gr SMKs

I'm aware I don't know what the muzzle velocity is of each out of an 18'' barrel and am hoping that someone here DOES know. I know 2950fps for M193 is not out of an 18, but more likely a 14.5'' barrel. |

how would you compares this to the vortex diamondback hp 4-16x?

how would you compares this to the vortex diamondback hp 4-16x? View Quote This scope has noe even been introduced yet but is a illuminated version of our popular 4-14X FFP with Mil DOt retilce. Vortex makes a great scope. T his scope is front focal plane, illuminated and has a more sophisticated reticule. First decision is to decide if you need or want those features. They cost extra. |

Is there any estimate on a possible release date? Sometime in the fall? I am trying to plan out my long range scope purchase.
Thanks in advance! |

View Quote That depends if you want to have a DMR specific reticle that allows you to auto range and BDC on targets immediately! Have wind holds preset on glass not requiring adjustment from target to target. Also auto lead, if this is for a fighting rifle or something you mean business with its a must have, if you just punching paper the standard 4-14 is great. I have shot the mil system my whole life and still can't do what I can do with this, I hope this helps. Dimitri |

I would also like to know the ETA. Mid August is right around the corner. Is the scope going to make our shores by then? Gotta an Aero M5 308 combo that this scope would be bitchen on. I haven't bought anymore parts for the build though. Because of this scope. Want to make sure I have enough money on hand to snag one right when the notifications go out.

What is the eye box for the scope at all the magnification settings? I would love to have this info on all your scopes.
I love the ACSS 1-6x scope, but am now looking to find a different 1-6 scope because the eye box is really really tight at the 6x setting.I wear glasses and due to how I have to have a specific type of cheek weld in order to shoot and the tight eye box at 6x makes it almost unusable for me. 1x has a large eye box that is just wonderful. |

To clear up a few things in this thread. Exit pupil is the objective size divided by magnification.
I don't know how you would measure the eye box. That is how forgiving the scope is if you are not square behind it. You goal should always be to set a scope up so you have a solid cheek weld. Change mount height, stock etc. Yes some higher end scopes are more forgiving but with any 1-6X (really any scope) you want to be square so there is no parallax shift from being off center. |

View Quote Exit pupil gives two dimensions of the 3D eye box (or 1 dimension of the quasi-cylinder). Eye-Relief threshold gives the 3rd. All of these pieces work in harmony to create a small or large "box" behind the eyepiece where the full image is visible. -Jim |

Ordered with a bunch more items, forgot one item I wanted to save on shipping. I'll get it another order in the future. Thanks PA for the great deals and scope!

So conflicted! Have the other 4-14 and a $170 store credit. =\ want it but don't need it.

I just couldn't help myself. I'm more used to MOA but this is too good of a deal if the glass turns out to be decent and the turrets are solid. I'm happy w/ the latest PA 1-6x (and the original for that matter), I have yet to be disappointed by PA optics. Keep 'em coming!
